door lock assembly
indicates that the lock and the handle sections are not properly aligned
leave the screws slightly loose and operate it as you tighten the screws

Got 2 Wieser locks on different doors. I have smart keys and understood could set ally keys to open both locks with same setting. Is it possible or can you only configure keys to a specific lock?

I think, like garage doors, those keys put out one code. you would need to change the lock to match so that the keys could operate both

Baldwin smart key lock out

So you bought a replacement key, you tried to use it and it locked the antitheft feature. Yes, that is correct. The car sees any key that doesn't have the chip in the key that it knows as an attempt at theft. Call the dealership, and have them come out to you and program both keys and remove the block you have now.

If you only have one key, and the replacement was for a lost one, you can disconnect the battery for 2 hours, put the new key in the lock and reconnect the battery. It SHOULD re-pair the chips. I saw 'should', because the Mercedes Smart for Two is incredibly complex electronically. There are a lot of things only dealers can do and they are expensive.

Someone stole the keys to my cadalac elderodo 1994 I can't afford a new set of keys so how can I bypass the smart lock, which stops the car from starting.

Hi Sarah
I'd really suggest that you get some new keys. If you have your VIN info your dealer shouold be able to help you. Bypassinf the smart lock is an invitation to having the car stolen.

I have a light on the dash with a car and a key at the bottom of the car. Couldnt start the car, finally did after several attempts

Hi there,

Sounds highly likely that your Key Transponder is not communicating properly with your vehicle's smart lock (anti theft system) system. The purpose of these systems is to deny "unauthorised keys" to start your vehicle.

You would be wise to contact your local VW dealership to enquire about having ALL your transponder key's recoded to your vehicle, or renewed if faulty.

Hope this helps...

Cheers,

Smart for two X on dash, locks not responding.

Most probably you have a synchronization problem between key and the car.As signal is received since the signals are flashing , but security is not responding.
First , if you have a spare key , try it and see if that works. If not you need to reprogram the keys again. You can do that at any authorized Smart service center and it should not take much time to do it. Good luck

Acura RL 2005 Smart Key problem

Does the car lock open with the switch on the door?  If it does not, it is not the key.
