Craftsman 18 gauge braid nailer wont fire. Just hear and feel air escaping near trigger mechanism.

18 gauge nailer. Not cars! Anyway check inside the housing bad either replace or disassemble the mechanism (trigger valve) clean everything better to replace and grease it liberally before reinstalling. The o rings tend to roll or flip causing binding ( leaking) sometimes you can take off the back housing where the air goes in and look in the back to see if its sealing correctly. I played with mine for 2 hours. Before I called a service guy at Thomas industrial supply got there number off the web. They helped me a ton for free got somebody right away. Nice folks. Very knowledgeable. Got me up and running am smarter for the whole experience.

Nailer firing weak

Usually this is an air pressure problem. You can safely set your compressor anywhere between 90 -110 psi for nail guns.
Also check the adjuster near the nose of the gun. It's usually a little wheel that you turn to adjust nail firing depth.

Thre is a clicking noise coming from under car not top of engine.. also 2001 jeep grand cherokee blows cold air with heater on but is overheating at same time..

If the clicking noise happens when turning corners at low speed and it is front wheel drive then check out the CV joints for worn out.

Can anyone help. ive got a hilti dx450 that won't fire, ive stripped it down and given it a good clean but still no luck getting it to work. could anyone tell me if there should be some sort of firing...

You are correct on the firing pin. Those rim fire caps have to be struck by a firing pin or it won't fire. Pull the head apart and see is the firing pin stuck or missing.

The best way to soot 1 nail at a time out of a pneumatic roof nailer is to bounce fire it. Hold down the trigger and lat the safety fire the nailer as you bounce it against the roof.

Brad nailer pin won't retract all the way back after firing tried oil and took apart and cleaned

Make sure that you use a water soluable oil made for air tools--never engine oil. Make sure that a piece of brad has not been lodged behind the nailer pin or that the head of the nailer pin is not 'mushroomed'. Check the condition of the 'return' spring that it is not crushed, warped, or broken. Check the condition of the piston 'O' ring.
