Tried to repair a gas leak under car . we tried to repair the hose now it doesnt leak from above the hose only under and used 2 clamps and it is tight as we are able to get it is it the metal piping ?

you don`t say what type of fuel system you have, carburetor or fuel injection, throttle body or port fuel injection system.this determines the type of repair.if it is port fuel injection then you cannot repair with a hose,it must be repaired with a steel line as the fuel pressure is above 30lbs pressure and rubber hose is not strong enough for the pressure.you can replace the section of line that is bad with a new steel line connected to a good section.if it`s carburetor the pressure is only about 6 to 8lbs pressure, and a hose can make the repair.if it`s throttle body then the pressure can range anywhere from 15 to about 20lbs pressure, this can be repaired with fuel injection gas hose,so you can see it makes a difference what system you have.any rubber hose used must be a fuel line hose not just any rubber hose.

Fuel line from the fuel tank leaks-- how do I repair or replace the line

The quick fix is getting a piece of ubber hose and two clamps and repair the line. You will have to cut the line and put the rubber hose on both ends and tighten the clamps. The permanent solution is to replace the fuel line from one end connection to the other end connection.

Repair/Replace 1994 Isuzu Rodeo Fuel Line

Is the line plastic or steel? They make repair kits for plastic lines, if you can find them. They are hard to find. If it is a steel line, you can go to the parts store and buy a pressure fitting. Cut the line and put the pressure fitting on. If it is the end of the lines, where they hook together or hook to fuel filter, it could be bad O-rings. Need more info.

Tune up 98 Dodge Stratus

If the previous repair shop was to replace the fuel filter and the line fell off, it would be the responsibility of the shop to re-imburse you for the re-attachment of the fuel line by the second shop. At least that's how we do it at our shop. If we made a mistake no matter how small, we do the right thing to keep the customer happy.
