1998 Volvo S70. Won't Start...Battery Recently Replaced. I replaced the battery within the past month, and had no problems with engine starting until today. The battery cables are tightened...

You will need to check to see if the starter is being triggered with a test light. It should be hooked up to the small wire on the solenoid portion of the starter. If it lights up when you turn the ignition switch to the start position, it is the starter, if not, it could be several other things (ignition switch, neutral safety switch or wiring).

I have a 1999 volvo S70 and it recently dosen't always start without jump, do I need a new battery

It my be you you have an old battery. you need to check the battery and the alternator. Take the battery to a Napa or Orileys and they can check it for free. If the battery is good, your charding system may not be charging.
It could also be your starter is worn and requires extra power to turn the engine over. Start with the battery check

Just bought a used 1998 Volvo S70 (as is). Have 1 remote & it opens the car. Have 3 keys that all start the car, open trunk, but none of them can open the driver's door. That is the only door...

obvious and thats because someone has damaged the lock ,go to dealer and order a new lock for that door with the chassis number and change the lock ,unless the back of the lock mechanism is damaged do the keys turn in the lock and nothing happens or wont they do into teh lock??

I just buought a 98 Volvo S70 T5, the car sat for abit, to the point were It had to jump it. to start. ran great for the next 2 hours off and on mybe 7 diffrent starts but it never running for more then...

It could be a number of things:
  • Bad connection or corrosion on battery cables
  • Dead cell in the battery would prevent it from charging fully
  • Bad or worn drive belt would slip, preventing the alternator from fully charging the battery
  • Bad alternator
If the car will run at idle with all accessories turned on, the alternator is good and you should concentrate on the battery and battery cables. If the car won't idle, then the drive belt and/or alternator could be the issue. If the car starts everytime when it's cold and only gives you a problem starting when the engine is hot, the starter could be the issue. A bad starter will often work when it's cold (after sitting a few hours or overnight). When a bad starter gets hot, it takes more and more power to get it to turn over.
Overall, I'd have the electrical system checked out. Most chain auto parts stores (Autozone, Advance Auto) will do a complimentary electrical test for you.

Turn off the car and turn it back on, then check for any alarm buttons. Press those a few times, and try it. Also try to manually unlock the doors with the key.

Try unlocking the trunk with the key, otherwise lock the door with the key, then unlock it holding the key in the extreme unlock position for five seconds.

If you do not have the code. look in owners manual some times it is written in there or there is a card with code on it. if not you need to go to a volvo dealer and they can get the code for you. You may have to pay them for it.
