I would recomend a synthetic oil most cars are 5 quarts 10w40 undo the drain bolt on the bottom of the oil pan then after the oil is drained replace the bolt. then scre off the fuel filter and replace it with a new one (a local auto store can supply the correct one) then fill the car with the 5 qts and your good to go

Why do 2015 Toyota 4 runners have to use sinthetic oil opposed to the 2013 models

synthetic oils maintain a fairly constant viscosity through out the operation heat range , where as mineral oils change viscosity as the engine gets hotter ( synthetic oils 20 w and minerals 15w-40 )
It could be a manufacturer requirement to maintain warranty but it is generally accepted that mineral oils and synthetic oils have small differences in the life of an engine
Talk with an oil manufacturer such as castrol, shell etc and with your service dealer to get a better understanding of the requirement

This depends almost entirely on two things. What temperatures will be expected in the next three months, and how much wear on the engine. Owner's manual should cover the basics, and I would expect 10w 30 is correct for most climates. Worn engines will sometimes benefit from higher vis oils.

The general rule is to change your oil and filter every 3000 miles, some heavy duty oils say 5000 miles. If you want to be sure go 3000 miles, change oil and filter and clean or replace your air filter and your car should last a long time.

My 2000 toyota corolla has been losing at least 2 quarts of oil betweem my 3000 mile oil change most times I am down 1-2qrts between oil changes & I have to put oil in .I have had the entire oil pan...

You need to determine where the oil is being lost. Open the hood and look for traces of oil. Place a clean piece of cardboard under the car and idle the engine - at the rate you are losing oil, you should see where the oil is dripping onto the cardboard within a few minutes, then work upward from there. Possibilities: Crankshaft seal (passenger side of engine), valve cover gasket (top of engine), main seal (driver side of engine). Any of these can go bad, far many reasons.

I need to know if i can use oil type SAE40 for my Toyota corolla year 1999

If you use the car in a very warm climate yes

If the temperature drops dramatically then the SAE40 will turn a bit thick and make it hard for the engine to turn over

The idea of using a mulitigrade oil such as the 10/40 is that the oils starts off thin when it is cold and gradually gets thiscker as the engine gets warmer
