karen, the first thing i would do is have the catalytic converter tested for a blockage, most muffler places (meineke, midas) will do this test free of charge, once they have your car on the lift it will only take about 10 mins. call and ask,as they do it free where i live, on top of it being free you may surprised about the additional advice they may give you

Warning light indicating there is a fault with this sensor, where is it and how do i replace it.

First of all, which sensor. Secondly, warning lights can't tell you a sensor is bad, per se. Warning lights simply mean that the reading the sensor is giving is out of the range that the computer is expecting it to be. The sensor MAY be bad, or there could be a bigger/trickier problem. When diagnosing a trouble light, you must first determine what is most likely to have happened that could cause this reading to be out of range. Trouble codes can be tricky, too. The programmers of OBD-II went a little too far as far as trouble code descriptions go. They have a few codes for bad sensors, but they assume too much, in some cases. Oxygen sensors are notorious for this. A slow front O2 sensor and a bad catalytic converter often causes the computer to throw a code for a bad rear sensor. Bad O2 sensors and catalytic converters are the most notorious for throwing misleading codes, but there are others.

2004 Dodge Stratus Sedan. engine light stays on,

Take the vehicle to any auto parts store that offers to read the fault codes with a scanner for free and find out what that code is. If it shows Upstream or Downstream O2 sensor replace the O2 Sensor. There is a catch, dodge had an issue in the 2000 - 2004. The ECM will show a fault code that indicates the Catalytic converter is faulty. This is actually a faulty Downstream O2 Sensor. If you get a Catalytic converter fault code replace the O2 sensor first if you still have the problem then replace the converter.

The service engine soon light stays on. Auto Zone hooked it up the engine show no problems

It is likely a warning that some major maintenance is coming due; for example, timing belt replacement, catalytic converter reaching end of life (typically 60,000 miles) or other. There is probably a procedure for resetting the warning without actually doing what is required.

Emissions warning light stays illuminated while driving vehicle is a holden vectra 2001 and not oldsmobile as below. could not find a listing for holden.

The warning light has two states. A blinking light indicates a critical problem with gaseous emissions from the engine that is likely to cause permenant damage to the engine, exhaust sytem or catalytic converter. A blinking light must be remedied immediately, and the car should not be driven in this state, at the risk of causing serious and permenant damage to the engine, exhaust and/or catalytic converter. Repairing or replacing these parts can be extremely expensive. A reputable garage or a Vauxall/Opel garage should be able to diagnose and repair the problem.

A solid (unblinking) light indicates a non-critical fault in the emmisions exhaust system. Many faults are covered by this light including failures in emssions sensors, temperature sensors and a variety of other parts. This usually results in a higher than average amount of environmentally harmful pollutants being expelled from the car, loss of power and/or gradual damage to the engine, exhaust and catalytic converter. While the car can still be driven with a non-critical emmisions problem, it is highly recommended that the fault is diagnosed and repaired at a reputable garage or Vauxhall/Opel garage.

Nissan figaro warning light identification required

the warning light is for the catalytic converter.  if the light remains illuminated then this indicates that unburned fuel has passed into the catalytic converter as a result of an engine malfunction.
