SOURCE: 95 Chevy Silverado.
To bypass the other switches, run a wire from the battery to the starter bendix and if it cranks then the problem is in the wiring or the switches you mention.

sounds like a mouse has got in and chewed the cables, their is no easy fix from what i can think of but check all the wires and connections in case water has got into it,or snow if your in alaska.its fifteen years old now so its possible that some insulation has broken down or a wiring loom has chaffed somewhere underneath

Too much main bearing clearance or a weak oil pump would be my first guess. If you have 15 to 30 psi(pounds per square inch) at start up and it drops down significantly after the engine warms or to zero in gear, you need bearings-bad!Your service engine soon light must be coming on too.You can run heavier oil - 15W40 and some oil treatment to get by for a while, but not for long.Take care of that engine before you piggy back a bearing and lock it up!

The stepping motors in the gauges go bad. Do a search on ebay for CHEVY SILVERADO INSTRUMENT CLUSTER for cheaper repair options, dealer costs $300.00
