How do i remove the heater core hoses on 2004 toyota camry LE 2.4L?


You have already been told that there is a VALVE in control of your heaters water flow...THE OTHER NAME of the heater core is a heat EXCHANGER... It delivers HEAT to the passenger compartment... In so doing the water returning to the ENGINE will... BY THE NATURE of plain/pure PHYSICS, be cooler...!!

The (unstated but) very SIMPLE question here...
The heater is NOT working...??
Check the VALVE.

You already know where the water goes in... and comes out There's no need to remove the core for FLUSHING.

One (return) heater hose being cooler is as normal as the sun rising in the EAST (it is not a problem... by itself)...

Getting heat in the back of the car but not in the front.


I would take a closer look at the heater control valve located in line with heater core hose.it vacuum controlled to close coolant flow to heater core when a/c Is on.it's located by the radiator on passengers side.it has a black plastic lever on it, and the body it aluminum. The lever breaks internally, causing low coolant flow to heater core.remove and you will find white sludge build up. Replace and be on your way....

Coolant leak near rear of engine.


What is a heating valve please ,never heard of this terminology ,a heater take off yes but a valve ?well if does have one i have never seen one ,most common cause is a core plug or in american freeze plug but a heating valve ?? couid be a heater hose perished and split i agree but a heating valve the heat on these cars is shut off by closing a flap on the heater inside the heater unit so this repair if its just a heater hose shouldnt take long unless its a core plug in which it may involve a longer job

My heater doesnt blow out hot air i have checked my heater core and it is in good condition. I was told to try my heater control valve but i can not locate it. Where is my heater control valve located?


I believe your heater core valve is in the cabin near the heater core.
You may consider the following to try and trouble shoot your problem.

Make sure your coolant level in the reservior, ( plastic bottle ), is filled up to the full line.

Start the engine and let it run for 6 to 8 minutes to allow it to get to it's operating temperature.
While the engine is running turn your heater up on full blast. You should hear a light click from the thermostat opening up to circulate the coolant through the system. Listen very closely. If you do not hear a click you may have a stuck thermostat.

If you hear the click turn the engine off and look behind the engine on the firewall. You should see 2 hoses that are about 1 inch in diameter. Carefully feel both hoses to see if they're hot, if both are hot your valve should be fine, but if only one is hot then it very well could be a bad valve.

WERE IS THE HEATER CORE VALVE IN 1990 LINCOLN


the inlet to your heater core is dead center of your firewall and 7 inches down. There will be two hoses. The inlet hose is on the right as your facing it. About 8 to 10 inches before the firewall as you follow the inlet hose back towards the engine, there is an inline valve with two wires attached to the top. This valve opens when heat is called for, and allows flow through the heater core. This valve is known for sticking shut. To check it, get the engine warm, turn on your heater, and feel the hose on bolth sides of the inline valve. If its hot on bolth sides you're valves ok. You can also check your flow through your heater core by feeling the outlet hose to the left of the inlet hose. If thats hot your heater core is most likely ok. I have the same car and have a problem with the heater not getting hot. My heater core checks out ok. I think the problem is with the blendor door not directing airflow through the heater core. GOOD TIMES!!!

If the heater core isn't leaking it doesn't likely need changing. It sounds like you could have a problem with the heater control valve - a valve in one of the heater hoses that controls flow through the hose. If you smell coolant and see moisture on your windshield (inside) or have coolant leaking onto the floor - you might need the heater core replaced.

All Cateras run hot, comes with the car. I have been experiencing the same problem with mine. Although I believe that my thermostat is faulty. They had many problems dealing with the cooling system because of the whole dex cool issue but Check the thermostat to make sure it is opening and the test the heat sensor to ensure continunity. If you get past that you got me.
