Might have a shorted circuit in the starting system. Good idea to also check for codes in the ECM. If any present, may help in pinpointing the problem.

No codes are showing. It was running then quit when the initial fuse blew. Was just idling in a parking lot. It's a 15 amp fuse. Put a 20 amp in and blew that too.

Not good to put fuses with a high amp rating. If the fuse is blowing, this means that there is a shorted power wire in that circuit. Might want to begin checking that circuit until you find which component is causing the problem.

SOURCE: AM2, 15amp, Starter system, "ST"

Have an auto electrician look at it.

I had the same problem just last week. It turned out to be the idle regulator. Every time the IR got hot it would blow the fuse. You can drive the car without it attached but get it fixed asap. Got one for $40 from a spare parts place ($200 brand new) and my mechanic mate changed it for me (looked easy enough to do it yourself). Good luck.

SOURCE: 99 vw jettal 2.0 gas fuse

Thats the fuse for the ECU, engine control module, and is a 15amp for gas 2.0. i would locate the ECU which is under the center of the plenum in the engine compartment and disconnect the long plug. Check for green discoloration on the multipin connector. Sometimes moisture will get in there and short some of the pins together. Leave ECU unplugged and replace the fuse. If it still blows cause is between the fuse and the ECU.

SOURCE: Keep blowing fuses for the wipers, have replaced

Get the wiper motor checked/serviced as it is likely drawing more current due either a ball bearing / bush defect or wear, or its armature is short circuiting

Why does my efi fuse keeps popping 1999 chevy prizm

Pull the EFI relay, replace the fuse, and see if it blows when you turn the key on. If it does not turn the key off, reinstall the EFI relay and remove the circuit opening relay/fuel pump relay. Turn the key on. If the fuse blows than we know the problem is One of the O2 sensors, the IAC, the purge solenoid, or the ECM You can unplug the O2 sensors, iac, and purge solenoid. Replace the fuse, turn the key on, and plug them in one at a time until the fuse blows. Replace that component. If the fuse blows with those unplugged than its probaly the wiring and possibly the ECM. let me know what you find and I'll help you more if needed.
