When replacing an engine it's always recommended that you re-program the computers to match the new engine.

If you have a scan tool with the correct software, you can do it yourself. If not, best you take it to your local dealer.

SOURCE: Will not start.

Look near the back of the alternator, mounted on a bracket, has a wiring harness & vacuum line going to it. What makes them go, Time. They are electrically & vacuum operated, so one or the other having a failure is not uncommon.

Right off the bat have you tried a new gas cap? This code means you have a vacuum leak. In the evaporative system, in other words from the gas tank to the engine, part of the emissions system has to do with drawing fumes off the gas in the tank. This code will be real hard to give you a definitive solution for, due to - no info on, year, or model. As far as I know it is not related to the Ox2 sensor. If the car will run, you can try spraying WD 40 along all the small hoses and vacuum lines in the engine bay until you find the leak. Try up close to the air breather, intake manifold area. Hope this helps Fixya up.

SOURCE: 2006 suzuki forenza engine light keeps coming on with p2135 code. I had the range sensor replaced and put 2 different throttle bodies in it. The engine light still comes on and goes off all of the tim

You don't fix it installing one let alone 2 throttle bodies
who did that

The shop you went to did not use the codes correctly
to diagnose the problem,so I won't guess with out factory
reference material

You doctor performs tests when you go there

So you car has to also be properly tested

Code don't indicate a fail part

If you had a ford product I would say you have bad ignition
coils setting the unrelated throttle body codes

On your I would need to study the vehicles systems as
should have the folks that took you money & guessed

I took a guick look using google & the code so you can do that
Doubt you will understand much & I think it goes much deeper
than the factory

The engine light wont go off

Could be a dozen things. Just because a part is mentioned in the trouble code doesn't mean the part itself is bad. It could be telling the truth and the problem is caused upstream somewhere. Plus, there are about 10 different O2 sensor codes, so it's impossible to give advice without the code. Finally, is the year, make, model and engine a secret? Is that why you didn't list that critical info?

I have a 2011 cruze Eco. It is idling rough and has a hard time obtaining the right speed when in a certain gear. I have codes such as 171, 1101, 106, 324 and 496.

Replace the MAF sensor first. All the codes could relate to this. I would check power and ground at the MAF sensor plug first. But I have seen these and codes like these all going to the MAF sensor, since 2000. Numbers different, but still the same symptoms...Lean, MAF, MAP,Knock.. Evap is new, wouldn't doubt this one though.

My Honda dx 1990. Didn't pas smog run to rich

Have you hooked it up to a scan gauge to diagnose it?
Many times if the M.A.P. sensor is faulty, the computer won't recognize the load on the engine and cause to run very excessively rich....lot's if black smoke from the exhaust

If that's not the case and it runs good, I'd check/ change the
Intake Temperature air sensor which tells the 'puter how hot or cold the air is....it's generally small and located in the tubing leading to your air filter.
If not that, then the water temp sensor may be bad, once again telling the 'puter that it's cold and to give more fuel.
There are 2 of them, one for the gauge in the dash
and 1 for the computer. Both located near the thermostat or the head wherever there is coolant flowing.

The easiest thing to do is put a scan gauge on it and check for codes. Many auto part stores like Oriellies or Autozone
will do it for free, and since your 'puter is obd1 it should
be an easy fix.

I hope this was helpful for you and it passes the dreaded inspection.

Scanning/Retrieving codes gives an Automotive Technician basic info......Usually with multiple possible scenarios for the cause of said code(s).Throwing parts at an improperly diagnoised vehicle is what you are now facing....Time for a pro.

My 94 gmc k1500 starts and runs good until it

Being your truck is a 1994, that means it's the OBD I operating or computer system. Now, if you know of someone that has a scanner that can read OBD I that would be great. What you are looking for is a scanner which can read live data as the engine is running, NOT simply a code reader.

You didn't say that the check engine or service engine light was on, but what I suspect is wrong won't "throw a code" so it doesn't matter if the light is on or not.

I highly suspect the coolant temperature sensor, NOT the coolant temperature sender, is bad.

I ran across 2 vehicles back to back that had the same basic symptoms you have described. One was an OBD I system, the other was OBD II. Both vehicles showed during a 'live scan' that the coolant temperature sensor was telling the computer the engine was -40°!!! Yup, MINUS 40°. This caused the engine to be getting fuel dumped into it like it was 40° below 0, even after the engine was warmed up.

The coolant temperature sensor tells the computer that the engine is cold, getting warm, or is completely warmed up.

As the 'puter is getting this info, it adjusts the air/fuel ratio, timing, etc. to make the engine run the most efficient.

The computer can only go by the info being fed by the sensors, oxygen, coolant temp. manifold air pressure, throttle position, etc.

If any of these sensors go bad and start 'lying' to the computer, the 'puter don't know the difference and adjusts according to the info received. Some of the sensors, when bad, WILL throw a code.

The coolant temperature sensor will NOT throw a code but it will cause a poor running vehicle.

Change the sensor. It should cost less than $10.

Hope this helps.

2005 Ford Escape XLT sputtering. Replaced spark plugs as codes said. The check engine light does NOT come back on. No codes to read. I've done some research and there seem to be a few common answers....

Replaced spark plugs as codes said. ???? What code ? No code tells you to replace anything with testing . Hooking up a scan tool checking checking engine sensor data pid's . If you don't know this your best bet would be to take your vehicle to a qaulified repair shop . You could have a bad sensor , Mass air flow , a bad coolant temp sensor . Fuel system problem , fuel pressure an flow testing should be done . What are the O2 sensors doing ? are they switching from 0.2 to 0.9 millivolts ? What the fuel trims at ? Is the computer adding or subtracting fuel ?

047 Engine Hard to Start or No Start Scan Data for Ignition
048 Engine Hard to Start or No Start Scan Data for Starting Problems
There is a lot involved in diagnosing these computer systems , and guessing doesn't fix vehicle running problems .

2012 CRUZE DTC P2100

I had the same issue with my 2014 Cruze TDI. It was solid, every time I started the car the error would appear. So I disassembled the air intake and everything was clean except for the sensor between the MAF sensor and the throttle body. I have no idea why it was dirty when everything else was very clean. But I cleaned it a week ago and the light has not come on again. I hope this helps.
