There is no need to prime the pump with anything on a 2007 Grand Prix. The pump is submerged in the fuel tank and will push fuel to the engine without priming.

If someone changed your fuel pump and the motor locked up immediately could this be the cause because you could do this to older models

I wouldn't think so. Anything that comes from the fuel tank has to go thru the fuel filter and the injectors. Plus the amount of vaseline that the fuel pump would be able to hold is minuscule. I use more packing into new seals than the pump can hold.

Ok what about priming the oil pump

same thing, there would not be enough vaseline involved to cause engine damage. Has the cause of the engine failure been determined?

My 2000 Grand Prix GT is losing cylinder fire exactly at 60 mph while accelerating every time. Then the Trac warning light flashes once. It runs fine below 60. Noticed no Speed Cont. fuel pump relay.

What engine ? could have 3.1 or 3.8 L No resistor ? for what ?
Noticed no Speed Cont. fuel pump relay. What are you talking about . Are you talking about no control for the fuel pump relay from the PCM/ECM engine computer ? The PCM Energizes the fuel pump relay for two seconds when key is first turned on . Two second prime of fuel system . When cranking the engine the PCM/ECM will only energize the fuel pump relay if it see's an input from the crank sensor .

How do you prime the oil pump without disassembling the engine

Every time you drain the oil, the oil system drains
to some extent

Put oil in the filter & remove the injector fuse

Crank the engine awhile, to hopefully start oil flow

I have replaced the fuel pump on my 1994 pontiac grand prix with the 3.1 litre v6. But it does not seem to be sending the fuel to the motor? In the instructions it says something about the oil pressure...

Are you sure that the fuel pump is properly installed? Have you tested the fuel pump circuits to see if they are working properly? Did you also replace your fuel filter? (It could be totally clogged up) Have you checked to see if there is any fuel pressure at the fuel rail or are you just assuming that the pump is not delivering fuel to the injectors? Have you checked your fuel injector circuits for power and for injector pulse from the EngineControl Module? Have you scanned your Engine Control module to see if you possibly have a Crank Sensor or Cam Sensor problem?

The oil pressure switch only keeps the fuel pump running once the engine starts. The fuel pump should run for 2-3 seconds when you turn the ignition switch to the "Run" position to prime the injectors. The oil pressure switch is the problem only if the engine will not continue to run on its own after it starts up.
