Replacing fuel pump on 2003 Suzuki Aerio 2.0L 4 Cyl. DOHC

Can I do this without removing exhaust or other rear end components? I know that the pump is located on the fuel tank with no access point from the interior. FWD vehicle so no rear drive shaft to worry about.

as you can see (and we cant)
some are 4wd and have a 4wd PROP shaft to the rear, so is yours 4wd?
why not look under your car,.
    at the tank.
and go, well gee, this and that needs to come off first.
    in like 30 seconds work.
    after on jack stands, sure.

If you are able to drop the fuel tank without disconnecting any other components (brake lines, suspension and exhaust), and remove the fuel pump, the answer is yes.

Best to drain the fuel from tank to make it lighter when dropping down enough to clear the pump.

How do I replace the fuel pump on a 2001 Nissan maxima

The fuel pump is located in the fuel tank. Some vehicles have an access port under the rear seat or in the floor of the truck that can allow access to the fuel pump without removing the fuel tank. If your does not, you must remove the fuel tank to get to the fuel pump assembly.

Wrangler fuel pump problem? Dropping the gas tank made easy.

Fuel pump problems can be a real problem on a Wrangler. They are a Pain to get to.

The fuel pump in a Fuel Injected Wrangler is in the gas tank. The gas tank must be removed to gain access.

This procedure will help you get through it.

You will need a 1/2" socket, ratchet, extensions, flat head, needle nose, floor jack, rag, broomstick,. A creeper will make this easier. Depending on your dimensions and the height of the frame on your particular vehicle, you may be able to use it without jacking the vehicle up.

A word of caution. You're going to be working with a tank of gasoline. Stay aware of that. Wear safety glasses. DON'T SMOKE!! Be safe.

Now, lets get started.
  • Disconnect the negative battery terminal
  • Relieve the pressure in the fuel line. This is done from the injector rack on top of the engine. About the center of the rack you will find what looks like a filler valve on your tire, only thicker. The fuel line can maintain over 40 P.S.I. pressure even with key off. Place a rag over the pressure relief valve. This will prevent gas from shooting out the vent. Use the corner of a screwdriver to poke the center core through the rag. A second or two should do it. Make sure all pressure is relieved.
  • Place a floor jack under the gas tank shield, jack it up until snug.
  • Disconnect the rear exhaust hanger.
  • Loosen and remove the three shield nuts above the rear end
  • Remove the plastic shield from beneath the left rear corner. Two plastic anchors hold it on. Disengage them by pulling the center plug out about 1/2". This will expose the hoses connecting the tank to the body.
  • Loosen the hose clamps
  • If you can get them to twist, try and get them off.
  • Rear nuts next. Loosen and remove all but the center one.
  • Make sure the jack is centered and snug
  • Remove the last nut. The tank isn't going to DROP. It will kind of lean, and jam against the exhaust.
  • Insert the broom stick into the exhaust pipe.
  • Push and hold it to the right, slowly let the jack down. Stop if it hangs up and work it free.
  • When its down far enough to access the top of the tank, disconnect the plug, loosen thew hose clamps, remove the hoses, separate the vent hoses at the 'T' connector.
  • Lower it the rest of the way
  • The tank can now be separated from the shield.
The fuel pump / gauge sender assembly is located top dead center of the tank. Eight bolts hold it on. Remove them and carefully extract the assembly.

Reverse this procedure to to reinstall the tank.

Location of fuel pump

Until 1987 the fuel pumps were located under the left rear of the vehicle Starting in 1989, it is inside the fuel tank. You can access it without removing the fuel rank via an access panel inside the rear cargo or passenger area. You have to remove the rear seat to gain access to the panel.

Where is the fuel pump located in the suzuki swift 95 model

The fuel pump is located in the fuel tank. The tank needs to be dropped for this procedure usually. Look under the rear seat just to be sure. You may be able to locate a small panel under there which will allow access to the pump without having to remove the tank.

Where is fuel filter on 2003 corolla located, thanks.

Your model will require a fuel lock nut wrench to unlock the ring from the fuel pump assembly, which is located and mounted on/in the actual fuel containment tank. There should be an access door to remove the fuel pump and filter without actually lowering the fuel tank. The access door will be located just under the rear seat assembly, which will need to be raised or removed.

Fuel pump, where is it located, in the tank or out?

Most likely if this is a fuel injected vehicle which most modern vehicles are. The fuel pump is located in the gas tank. To get to it, you most likely have to drop your exhaust then drop your rear axle in most cases to then be able to drop the gas tank and access the fuel pump.
