I would verify that the engine is full of oil. If so, make sure that the sending unit is enact and connected properly.

First thing check the oil level, the low oil pressure is the cause of the no start. I have seen cars that never had the oil put in or the drain plug was left loose by the oil change technician.

Exhaust pressure sensor a possibility if it has a DPF (diesel particulate filter). Has it had its fuel pump recall, the oil pressure light could be just the constant cranking and running the battery low.

Low oil pressure

There's a couple of things you can try. You could have a bad oil pressure sender or a bad gauge. Without spending a lot you could replace the sender unit. If the gauge is defective, it is more expensive and the new sender was a waste of money.

You could have someone put on a pressure test gauge which would be threaded into the hole from removing the oil sender. This will tell you if the oil gauge and old sensor are accurate. If the readings from the mechanics add-on gauge are still low, then you have an internal engine problem.

A mechanic will cost you to hook up a test gauge, and you still may have to buy a new sender. Probably the best thing is to do is install a new sender yourself and if it works you are done; if it does not help either go to a mechanic or replace the gauge.

An internal engine problem could be an oil pump, or bearings.

Oil pressure light

this sounds like you may have a bad oil pressure sensor.if there is no noise when the light comes on that maybe all it is.however have the oil pressure checked just in case it is low at low rpms.i`m not sure as where the sensor is located but you might find out at a auto parts store or the shop that you deal with.some of these sensor need a special socket to replace.something you yourself would use only once so you mays as well have shop that checks the pressure replace the sensor.

My 2009 MKZ has been making a scraping noise and has a gear oil smell, now in reverse it locks up, bucks and will hardly move making a horrible noise. Any help is appreciated.

You will need a transmission rebuild if it has gotten to the point that your reverse is locking up. If your lucky then most of your gears aren't damaged.

How do i reset the tire pressure monitoring system on a 2008 mkz?

The tire pressure monitor will go out automatically on a Lincoln MKZ in the following manner. If you determine and identify that you have low air pressure on any of your tires (including the spare), you simply re-inflate to the proper pressure. If this corrects the problem the air pressure sensors will reset after the car has been driven for 20 miles.. If this does not fix the problem, you have a faulty sensor...
