That has to do with your idle air control valve (IAC). It is controlled by the pm and more diagnostic tests are needed to narrow down exactly where the problem lies. Check all wiring and connection to IAC and pcm 1st.

Get thee a Chiltons/Haynes repair manual for your make/model/year. The troubleshooting section will offer possible causes of your problem. We had same problem, then pulled new (supposedly pre-gapped plugs) and found the gap to be wrong. Could be one of those idle position/throttle position sensors. Is it throwing any codes? An OBD-II should cover this year of vehicle.

1999 buick century won't accelerate over 30 mph

is the check engine light on ! if so have it scanned to find problem code. auto-zone will scan for free, with a OBD-II scanner, as long as light is still on. if vehicle was running good before this happed it could be a few things wrong. tuneup, airfilter, throttle body dirty, fuelpump ( low fuel pressure ) or a clogged uo fuel filter. hope this helps! even a dirty maf sensor will cause, poor acceleration.

Service engine light

From the GM Factory service Manual:
P0341 - Camshaft Position (CMP) Sensor Performance
The other thing about this code, is that it can be caused by a faulty ignition module, or the cam sensor magnet on the timing chain gear, behind the engine front cover that the sensor mounts to. These possibilities would
require a bit more involved diagnosis than just replacing the sensor related
to the code.
I have done a tech. bulletin search for this code, and come up with nothing.

Again, need to get harness checked, and if wiring OK, further diagnosis of
the ignition system.
