You need to look at the wiring that goes to the up/down cylinder solenoids. Look for frayed or kinked spots that could be a break in the wiring. If the wires look good I would look to the switch. Make sure it is not corroded.

Plow lifts great when cold gets weaker and weaker as it warms up. could it be as simple as the fluid is to thin?

  • Oil viscosity is dropping as oil warms up. Check that plow stays in up position. If plow creeps down than a leak by the piston seal or manifold valve is likely.
  • Check for contamination in tank. Suspect pump has worn and is loosing pump efficiency. Metal particles in tank are an indication pump is failing.
  • There may be a repair kit available. Make sure that system is completely clean.
  • Only use pump manufactures recommended fluid.
  • Install a pressure gauge on pump.
  • There is a pressure relief valve in the system. Ck if contamination is holding it open or spring/valve seal is bad.

Plow will only turn to the right

It is electric over hydraulic most are, make sure the solenoid is clicking when you try to turn the plow. One side is working see what one is clicking the other one would be the culprit. If the solenoid are working then the problem is internal to the valve body. Make sure you haven't bent the rams that will cause this as well. If you have you will hear the hydraulics trying to over come this. Make sure the power is getting to the solenoid as well to make them click. Sometimes the switch inside the cab will break inside and not send the electric signal to the solenoid. inside when they do this they are moving a spool valve to redirect hydraulic flow of fluid to one ram or the other. Hope this helps :-)

Fisher minute mount 2 plow won't move.the motor runs but no plow movement? Is the pump bad?

You may have to bleed air out of the system to get it to work properly. Hope this helps.

The snow plow in my truck is not moving after the cool weather we hade last night in NJ. The motor still runing but my plow is not going up,left or rigth, but is going down

Dis you check the hydraulic fluid in the pump? If the fluid is low, you probably have a broken hose or a blown seal on one of your rams. If the fluid is full, you probably have a bad pump.

The plow will work fine for a hour. After that the plow gets real slow. Note older stlye hydraulic under the hood cables. I changed the fluid a couple of times. Everything is tight.

It may be the seals swelling as the fluid heats up from use. Are you using trans. fluid or the 'blue stuff' designed for hydraulic systems? I had a similar problem with my 1st plow truck, I found that spraying the seals at the shafts of the up/down piston and angle pistons seemed to help, although only for a while, requiring spraying every few driveways. Some fluids (trans.) can cause the seals to swell, although I can't recall what type. Unfortunately, to really fix this you probably need to drain the system again, and replace all the seals, and refill with the 'blue' fluid.

I just bought a 1986 chevy 1/2 ton with a fisher plow. I hooked up the plow and it won't go up or down, or left or right. The controls work, if I move the pistons on the valve body it still does'nt work....

un bolt the motor from the base, the pickup is just tin, they rot off and fall into the base. you may have valves stuck too, but if nothings moving and pumps running, it should labor BADLY
