Replaced injector pump 990 David brown original had ceased now tractor starts runs for 20-30 seconds then dies. Restarts fine but only runs for 20-30 secs. First start in morning ran for 2-3 minutes

it indicates that there is a fuel shortage problem
check the supply pump for fuel supply to the pump elements
if the fuel supply pump is part of the injector pump , there could be a blockage in the fuel line or air still in the system
of there is a good supply of fuel to the pump then contact the shop that reconditioned the pump
if you just fitted another pump without reconditioning it , then talk to an accredited diesel pump specialist shop

Why doesn't it start by itself?

Have you used a "noid" light to see if you are getting injector pulse?

My used kubota escavator has a 4 cyl kubota desel engine fuel injector pump is filling crankase with fuel

because injector pumps need specialized machinery to calibrate them , this is a job for a diesel specialist shop
while you can remove the pump , the fitting and timing is is tricky unless it is done by an experienced diesel mechanic
Because the machine would be used by a company or to make a living the quickest fix here is to have a specialist shop to the job rather that do it your self
the pump shaft probably has a bad bearing and that is allowing the shaft seal not to work properly and allowing fuel into the sump

1800 diesel escort van uneven running when first starting

most likely from faulty injectors
could be from dribbling tips allowing air into the injector that is eventually purged allowing the injector to operate properly
I suggest that the injectors be pulled and reconditioned by an accredited diesel specialist shop

Kubota M 5030 2.8 6 cyl. Diesel in oil sump. Why?

Diesel gets in the sump from an seal leaking in the fuel pump through to the drive gear and out into the sump. If it has an inline pump( one where the injector lines are in a row at the top of the pump) the fuel will be leaking past the plunger elements and into the pump sump which then drains back tot he engine sump. IF it is slight but consistent sometimes injectors will dribble when shut down and the fuel will by pass the piston rings into the sump. Talk with a diesel pump and injector repair specialist for any faults particular to the Kubota fuel system

I have had the cylinder head reconditioned and when i started the vehicle it started fine, but no power. Only revs up to 2000rpm.

may want to check the valve clearance. if the old injectors were working before the head was removed and reworked then they should still work now. start probing at what was not working when your problem started. the valves may be adjusted too tight or too loose. too tight creates a low compression / low power problem. too loose will not allow the valve to open enough for fuel intake and can also create low power.

I have a #2 cylinder misfire that stays #2 when the ignition modules are swapped.

OK if the ignition modules (do you mean coil packs?) are swapped then the misfire could be coming from a fuel injector that is plugged up or electrically is not being fired by the computer.

Try to use a fuel injector noid light to see if the injector on #2 cylinder is getting current, and/or listen for a click using a stethoscope on cyl. #2's fuel injector when running.

If the injector is alright, there may be a burnt valve in cylinder #2 which is expensive to repair.

Maybe try a new cylinder head or remove and recondition the cylinder head to rectify the situation. This is a major repair if it is not the fuel injector itself.

Sometimes computers go bad causing a miss on a particular cylinder, as well.

Good luck on the repair.
