I have a electrical promblem number 3 coil is not firing swap coil and check for spark , no spark, it in a2004 chyrsler pacificahas. anyone run into this before or is there a bulletin on this;;;;;

Misfire #8 cylinder


this has individual coils for each cylinder, correct? Why not check for spark out the number 8 coil. if there is no spark swap it with another coil. If there is still no spark out the coil than the coil is bad. If the coil starts to work in the swapped coil location and the swap coil will not work in the number 8 position than there is a problem the either the wiring or the PCM.

No fire to number one coil


before you go for the worst position, get first the spark plug out and check if it is burnt. Have you changed spark plugs before? Second If the spark plug is ok,then do a compression test,to see whether you do have any problem with either an inlet or exhaust valve. The other thing is since you swap coil,have you checked whether the faulty coil works or not on the other spark plug? if it is working and the good coil on the faulty cylinder does work then the fault is either on the coil side,or the wiring from the ECU to the coil is either broken,cracked,or shorted. The last thing you do then is the ECU.

Hello! There is a wiring multiple between the four coils of the Red and Black (+12 and Ground) wiring that may have opened up during the head replacement...On Coil #1...Pin #3 is a Red wire and on Pin #2 is a Black wire...It is the same on Coil #2...Using two safety pins...Push the points into the Red and Black wires...First on coil #! then #2...Set your meter to read 12 volts...Clip the (+) meter probe to the safety pin in the Red wire and (-) to the Black...Turn on the key...12 volts must be present...You can check the other two coils that are firing...More than likely those two will read OK...This is a preliminary test to insure #1 & #2 have the proper voltage...Send a comment with results and I'll take it from there...Guru...Saailer

Hello mikew564.The first diagnosis was number 2 or 3 cylinder not firing. Once you changed the coil, the check engine light went off. When the light came back on again, did you get it diagnosed again to find out if the problem was the same?... 2 or 3 cylinder not firing????

First of all, there is NO extra wire/ground on the coil/ignition wiring (see images below). The spark plugs and ignition plug wiring can be checked for arcing, corrosion, resistance and can be checked for cracks in the insulators or worn electrodes (and spark gap) by a competent mechanic.
If you are having the same issue (2 - 3 misfire), there are several techniques for eliminating the plug wires or spark plugs. Spray water on the plug wires to see if they are arcing. Swap plugs from cylinders 2 & 3 with cylinders 1 & 4. If you still have a 2-3 misfire, check/inspect/examine the coil connector pins & coil harness to the coil(s) themselves.

I need the firing order of 06 ford f150 xlt reg cab 4x4 v8(5.4l) its say on my scanner misfire number 6 cylinder


Cylinders 1-2-3-4 are on the passenger side. 5-6-7-8 are on the drivers side.

Check the spark output on the number 6 coil by removing it, installing a spark tester, and start the vehicle. If there is no spark swap the coil with the #5 coil. If it still doesn't spark replace the coil. Very common for them to go bad.

do you have coil over plug or one coil? if you have spark plug wires, swap one with the cylinder in question. swap an injector.

If this is a 1.8t engine then I would try swapping ignition coils to see if the spark comes back.

Two dead cylinders no spark on 1 nor 6 cylinders


Based on your readings, the fuel trim of -33 shows that it is running rich on that bank. Disconnect the coil on number one cylinder. With a 12 volt test light connected to ground, probe one of the two wires (engine running). One wire should be hot all the time, then connect the test light to a positive source (battery B+) and probe the other wire. The other sould be flashing on and off while running. The PCM provides ground to the circuit to fire the coils. If you don't have a pulsing light then the PCM circuit is faulty, if no constant power than the coil power source is in question. Don't attempt to fire the coil for testing without a load attached (spark plug) this burns out the driver in the PCM. Check continuity of the driver wire from PCM to the coil, if it is good and the other wire has power then the driver in the PCM is bad and a new PCM is what it will need. I hope this helps.

1993 Chevy Cavalier 2.2 not firing on 2 cylinders


The reason I'm asking this is because a dual coil fires BOTH plugs at the same time. If one plug doesn't fire right, the other won't either, even to a point that neither does. Kepp the coils where they are and swap the plugs and wires and see if you have a change. Let me know
