It's not the battery itself that's the issue. When you disconnected the battery to replace it, you cleared all the data from the computer. The computer then runs a self test of all systems to determine that they are functioning properly. There are several systems to be tested, and until they pass the test, each system is classified 'not ready'. Some system tests are done very quickly, with only one 'drive cycle', and they become 'ready'. Some systems require multiple drive cycles, and take longer. For some vehicles, specific criteria have to be met. On my vehicle, before the vapor recovery system can be tested, the fuel tank has to be between 1/4 and 3/4 full.

Some testing stations (depending on state) require all systems to be 'ready'. Some require a specific number to be 'ready', e.g., seven of nine. Find out what the requirements are, and which systems still need to complete testing, then check with a dealer for your make/model to see what is required to complete testing for that (those) systems.

Hello
I would disconnect the battery for at least 20 seconds. Connect the battery drive the car for a least 5 miles at least 50 MPH that should reset it, if not you should have a scan tool connected to see what is going on, take care of the problem and clear the codes
Good luck

It is typical after diconnecting the battery/ dead battery, most of the time it takes about 10 miles for the computer to reprogram, or the prom is not reading at the computer, go to a shop and this can be replaced without replacing the complete computer

Computer readiness will not reset. Will not pass insepection.

check all your fuses, there may also be a code about to set. the timeframe depends on your driving habits. or it could be the garage you are taking it to. ask them for a "drive cycle" printout. this is a form that explains the exact driving conditions for your vehicle to reset the monitors. you could also try taking it to autozone- they can tell you if it is ready or not.

Codes need to be reset in my cars computer?

if you had it replaced it should have already been set however you can reset your cars computer by taking the positive battery cable off the battery and waiting 2-3 min and then touching the positive cable from the car to the negative cable which is still attached to the neg post on the battery for about 5 sec and the hooking it back up. that will reset the computer which would configure any new sensors. when the computer reads a bad code it bypasses that sensor so your car will run. it wont run to the best of its ability though - that's why you didn't pass an inspection. when you replaced the sensor the computer didn't notice because it already stopped reading that sensor when it went bad and doesnt know about the new one. when you reset the computer as i told you then it will read the new sensor and work properly.

Code P0401 1998 Toyota Camry

I'm assuming that it is a four cyl.The p0401 code is for insufficient egr flow. Most of the time it is the egr vsv valve (vsv means vacuum switching valve)which is what controls the vacuum to the egr valve to open it.It is kind of hard to get to as it is on the block under the head on the back side.If you follow the hose from the egr valve it goes to the vsv.I have also seen mice eat holes in the vacuum line which would also give you problems.I hope this help and let me know if you have anymore questions
