Experiencing hydraulic fluid blowback on a Toyota forklift model 40-3FD60. serial #60803. Fluid is coming out of the filler tube cap during operation.

Maybe there was too much fluid added when the fluid was cold.

There must be a hydraulic fluid leak somewhere. Check to see if there is oil filler cap on your hydraulic pump located in the trunk compartment. Fill if necessary with just enough fluid to raise the top. The reason it won't go up is cause it is lacking pressure from the low fluid

Bought a used 2006 Toyota Corolla a few months back. Car has been working great until I noticed what I feel is a slight transmission slip. I checked what I think is the transmission fluid and it appears...


The transmission filler is located towards the driver side front of the transmission. Look for a tube with a red " T " on top of the tube. Check the fluid with the engine running, in park, at normal operating temperature. If you need fluid, add the type of fluid printed on the dipstick. Add the fluid thru the dipstick tube. Your scanner will give you the code but it will not tell you how to fix your vehicle. Scanners basically tell you what systems to check or what systems are failing.

These are what your codes mean:

P0700: Transmission Control Module
- Shorted or open circuit within transmission control module (TCM)
- Failure of transaxle control module. This is just a informative code.

P0734: Gear ratio error in 4th gear
- Low transmission fluid level
- Dirty transmission fluid
- Shift solenoids
- Transmission mechanical problems
- Transmission hydraulic control circuit

P0732: Gear ratio error in 2nd gear
- Low transmission fluid level
- Dirty transmission fluid

How to fix:
- Retight or replaced fuel tank filler cap
- Replaced damage or leaking EVAP canister

Based on the info check your EVAP system. I would check for leaks and maybe replace the EGR and the canister.

For the transmission check the TCM also you may need to take it to a mechanic though.

How do u bleed the clutch on a 1985 toyota celica


See instructions below from autozone.com. If the clutch still has air after following this procedure, try back bleeding by pushing the slave piston in while the bleeder is open, then closing bleeder before releasing the piston. This is similar to bench bleeding the slave, in case you didn't do that before the installation.


HYDRAULIC SYSTEM BLEEDING This operation must be performed any time the clutch master or slave cylinder has been removed or if any of the hydraulic lines have been opened.

WARNING Do not spill brake fluid on the bodywork of the vehicle; it will destroy the paint. If fluid is spilled, immediately wash the surface with plenty of clean water.

  1. Fill the master cylinder reservoir with brake fluid.
  2. Remove the cap on the bleeder screw on the clutch slave cylinder. Install a clear vinyl hose on the fitting; place the other end submerged in a clear glass jar partially filled with brake fluid.
  3. Have an assistant pump the clutch pedal slowly several times. After several pumps, hold the pedal down and open the bleeder, allowing fluid to flow into the jar. Close the bleeder valve almost immediately after opening it. Release the pedal only after the bleeder is closed.
  4. Repeat the process until the fluid in the hose contains no air bubbles. tube. When there are no more air bubbles in the system, tighten the plug fully with the pedal depressed. Replace the plastic cap.
  5. Fill the clutch master cylinder reservoir to the correct level with brake fluid.
  6. Check the system for leaks.

you have to bench bleed. Here is a procedure from autozone.com. Let me know if this doesn't help.


HYDRAULIC SYSTEM BLEEDING
Externally Mounted Slave Cylinder

  1. Clean the reservoir cap and the slave cylinder connection.
  2. Remove the slave cylinder from the housing.
  3. Using a 3 / 32 in. punch, drive out the pin that holds the tube in place.
  4. Remove the tube from the slave cylinder and place the end of the tube in a container.
  5. Hold the slave cylinder so that the connector port is at the highest point, by tipping it about 30° from horizontal. Fill the cylinder with DOT 3 brake fluid through the port. It may be necessary to rock the cylinder or slightly depress the pushrod to expel all the air.
WARNING Pushing too hard on the pushrod will spurt fluid from the port!
  1. When all air is expelled (no more bubble are seen), install the slave cylinder.
Some fluid will be expelled during installation as the pushrod is depressed.
  1. Remove the reservoir cap. Some fluid will run out of the tube end into the container. Pour fluid into the reservoir until a steady stream of fluid runs out of the tube and the reservoir is filled. Quickly install the diaphragm and cap. The flow should stop.
  2. Connect the tube and install the pin. Check the fluid level.
  3. Check the clutch operation.

WHILE DOING AN ENGINE OIL CHANGE I DRAINED THE AUTO TRANS FLUID BY MISTAKE. HOW DO I RE'FILL THE TRANS ?


Fluid Level Checking & Filling To Check:
  1. Connect a scan tool to the vehicle to read ATF temperature. ATF checking temperature should be 95° - 113°F (35° - 45°C).
  2. Start the engine.
  3. Raise and safely support the vehicle.
  4. Place a drain pan under the transmission.
  5. Allow the ATF temperature to reach 95° - 113°F (35° - 45°C). Automatic transmission fluid inspection plug vw-07-00-7273.gif

  6. Remove the inspection plug from the transmission housing. Fluid is pipe will run out. If fluid continues to drip out, no additional fluid is needed. If only the fluid in the overflow pipe runs out, additional fluid is needed.
To Fill:

  1. Pry the cap from the filler pipe. The cap locking device will be destroyed during removal.
  2. Pull the plug from the filler pipe.
  3. Add fluid slowly with VAG 1924 or equivalent until fluid runs out of the inspection hole. Install the inspection hole plug.
  4. Install the plug in the filler pipe and secure with a new cap.

Where do you check the transmission fluid


It's synthetic fluid and there is no dipstick , transmission sealed.
How to check fluid:
Warm up engine , raise vehicle on the lift with engine runing on park position , unscrew drain plug (don't warry it has tube in there ), if you see fluid coming out for 10-15 sec.- level is ok.
If nothing coming out - level is low.
There is a filler tube in front of the transmission with the red cap and red plustic sealing clamp.
If you able to take clamp out without braking it , you can reuse it after.
Fill transmission through filler tube with engine runing
and trany on park position , till fluid starts runing from drain plug , reinstall drain plug , reseal filler tube.
NEVER TURN ENGINE OFF WITH TRANSMISSION DRAIN PLUG UNINSTALLED !!!!!!!!!!!

How to change a master cylinder


a Master rates about a 5 out of 10 with 10 being the hardest

you may find the hardest part is the actual bench bleeding of the master
and/or
the replacement of the reservoir

These are the instructions from my service manual, but I do not remove the fluid prior to service steps 2-6

  1. Disconnect battery ground cable. Disconnect electrical connector from filler cap.
  2. Remove fluid reservoir filler cap.
  3. Raise and support vehicle.
  4. Remove front wheels.
  5. Remove dust cap and loosen bleed nipple. Connect a bleed tube to bleed nipple and into a suitable container.
  6. Pump brake pedal until all fluid is expelled. Tighten bleed nipple.
  7. Lower vehicle. Install brake fluid reservoir cap. Remove air cleaner and air cleaner outlet tube.
  8. Disconnect central electrical box electrical connector.
  9. Remove central electrical box retaining screw.
  10. Remove central electrical box and relocate to air cleaner area.
  11. Disconnect brake fluid feed tube. Disconnect brake lines.
  12. On models with anti-lock brakes, disconnect brake lines from Hydraulic Control Unit.
  13. On all models, remove brake booster vacuum hose.
  14. Extract master cylinder from vehicle.
  15. On models with manual transaxles, remove clutch hose from brake/clutch reservoir.
  16. On all models, remove master cylinder nuts and remove master cylinder.

To install, reverse removal procedure. Bleed brake system.

Checking transmission fluid level


the cavalier transmission has a level check plug , its between the bell housing and the axel tube on the torque converter side of the transmission , has to be done from under the car , by removing the check plug if fluid comes out its full if no fluid comes out add fluid accordingly . the cap you did find is the fill point only .

Bleeding abs brakes


Try using a pressure bleeder. It will force the air out. Works every time.
