There are spray cleaners for that purpose available at auto parts stores.
Spray it all over the inside if the throttle body without the engine running. Let it sit for a while to loosen the dirt. Spray again and then start the engine. Spray more to clean past the throttle plate.

Gas pedal hard to push. how to release?

You will have to clean the throttle body plate. It has crud in it causing the throttle cable to be hard to open and close.

I would clean the throttle body, and just for good measure, replace the throttle cable that connects to it.

How do i solve a p0405 code on my 1998 buick century i've changed the egr valve 5 times ran some sea foam through it cleaned the throttle body out what will i have to do to clear the check engine light...

When you cleaned the throttle, did you also clean out the pathway for the egr valve. I have seen these get completely clogged up. And if they are partially clogged they can pop a code. This also goes for the tube that comes from the exhaust.

86 buick century 2.5l. car sat about 6 months, no start, but when fuel is added to throttle body fires up. when i pulled the fuel line from TBI it sprayed across engine compartment. but when connected...

pressure underhood is good. i'd check the plug conection at the throttle body(injector).see that the injector trigger wires haven't been cut or crimped around the air filter.the injector can be removed from the body for cleaning, but you may want a shop to do that with an ultrasonic cleaner.does it spray at all when cranked?check all sensor connections too.

1998 buick century is stalling when coming to a complete stop. What's the problem?

Try cleaning the throttle body and blade, sometimes carbon builds up in the throttle body and on the back of the blade and restricts air flow at idle.

2002 Buick Century, when stopped car idle really speeds up. Have had this looked at and they can't seem to fix the problem. The last mechanic said there must be a leak somewhere. Any suggestions?

It could be a computer control problem, or maybe a vacuum leak. If there are no vacuum leaks you may want to try cleaning the throttle body and maybe replacing the idle control motor.

Where's the thermostat on a 3100?

Follow the radiator hose under the throttle body. It is in that housing. At least the throttle body has to come off to make it easier and probably the coolant bypass pipes that run under the throttle body need moved out of the way. It can be a real pain.
