Increased fuel consumption

First-- fire your repair shop & get one that
listens to your explanation of vehicle problems

They have to diagnose the vehicle, not just tell
you no codes are present.

The check light will leave codes stored

Spark Plugs don't exactly make for a tune-up

For over 30 years the car computer does the tuning

The upstream or front oxygen sensors should be replaced
on all vehicles at 100,000 miles, was that done

Was fuel trim checked
Was any scan tool data looked at
Was the car road tested with scanner

Don't need 12 oz of injector cleaner in 15
gallons of fuel,that won't do a thing

There are at least a dozen tests that should be done,
at least once a year, on all vehicles, not wait until you
have a problem

The main theme on this web site, seems to be a
deteriorating repair shop capability & the vehicle
owners ability to communicate with them, as a result
of decades of distrust & dislike, as well as no understanding
of test equip costs & parts costs

The shaking could simply be from using the wrong oil &
not changing it 4 times a year or more & now you have
variable valve timing issues

So many things to to be checked out

I can not get my truck threw inspection for a high idle

you are going to have to take it to a shop so they can calibrate the idle, there's two screws you have to mess with and it's not worthy to try to do it yourself, it'd be very frustrating, sorry. It happened to me and it took me months to finally give up, I paid only $60.

I get a wobble sometimes when I come to a curve at 50-60 mph on the left or right front wheel on my 1996 Mazda MPV. What's causing this? SOS

I would suspect deformed tyres ,they do go out of round with age and the sun which does wonderfull to tyres

My check engine light went on, I took and bought a new gas cap, took off the positive on the battery replaced the cap about 1/2 hour late and the light went off, now it went back on again. I have a 1993...

at your local auto store you can go get a OBD 1 meter the plugs in to a plug just under the dash board they are about 70 + tax depending where you live
that will give you a code of the problem theres only like 30 codes to you car

if you get an error code message me back for the code error as i ave the program that tells me all the problem codes

On the 2004 Element. Do you have to change the timing belt at a particular time ; or does it have a Chain?

Honda element has a Timing Chain, and Honda doesn't even recommending looking at it till something like 110,000 or 120,000 miles.
However, it is this an "interference" engine, meaning that if the chain or belt fails it could destroy the valve train and even the pistons.
Because it is an interference engine. I plan to change my chain at 100K, since I expect the car to go at least 200K but don't expect the chain to last that long.
Normally cars has Tune ups scheduled at 30K, 60, and 90K. As the rule of the thumb at 90K Tune up mechanic shops recommend timing Belt or Chain to be replaced. We can go for longer taking the risk.

CTS 2004 shuts down when making a stop and car lost thrust on Hwy

Tell the dealership uhugh. if the check engine light comes on, there is an error code which gets stored in the computer. on the nicer vehicles (like yours)it stores vehicle information at the time when the error battery voltage, rpm, speed, temperature, rpm etc. you need the find out what the error code is. that would give you an idea on where to start looking

hope this helps
