Same rattle and noise

I have exact rattle ad noise and I don't know if it's from the compressor,I think it might be the belt tensioner because at idle it doesn't do a thing as soon as the idle goes a little lower it starts rattling with the noise.Did any of you fixyour problems?Thaks

Actually when the AC comes on there's no problem, when I put it in drive the rattle starts. If I stop at light I hear it.If I switch to Neutral it stops.I looked and saw vibration underneath. Also the belt makes the high pitch noise once in a while. It's a new belt,I hear the AC clutch and or the alternatr berrings could cause it.THanks in advance guys for anymre input.

Also on these KA24-DE motors, the timing chain upper tensioners(when worn) rattle at low rpms. Sometimes even the A/C when turned on can cause it to dissipate by increased idle, or appear at switched off or vice versa!! Check if the rattling is coming from inside the LH side (drivebelt side) of the motor. If it is replace all timing chain components.....Hopefully this helps

Dodge magnum idling

Mr. Castillo.
I do not know exactly is your belt diagram, but I will give you a solution based to other vehicle . Since you do have a rattling noise with AC- off, please go to the belt Tensioner which might be a hydraulic one,or with a spring tension. If you do not manage to have a clear picture of it, the advise I give you is a simple long piece of wood and very carefully as the engine is idling, put it to all the parts which are in use at that time, one after the other and carefully not to touch the rotating belt, which might cause you an injury,or damage to the engine parts in that area. The piece of wood when is touched to any rotating part,on the other side of the wood, put it close to your ear and surely you will get the rattling noise easily. After that you will carry the repair .

Good luck and be very careful.

Just changed timing belt on 2001 nissan xterra. I can hear a noise coming from intake cam and slight rubbing or grinding noise for distributor cap. Does this mean timing is off or belt is too loose /t

some of those distributors were pretty loud as far as rattle noise. could be distributor it self, but would not worry about it much until it actually completely dies. could run like this for long time.

Rattle noise coming from belt

this could be a bad pulley or alternator, you will need to remove the belt and spin the pulleys by hand to see which one is making noise, it could also be the ac compressor pulley, start there.

What part is located in the front of the engine between the engine head and the radiator, it is making a rattling sound at high idle

lots of parts, alternator, water pump, a/c compressor lower area . many of them are on the serpentine belt. the pulleys and tensioner can make rattles. you need to confirm which part has the rattle or vibration, use a stick or screw driver. touch one end on the part and the other near your temple...any noise/vibration coming through?

fiind which one it is. lower noise on the crank can also sound like its coming from up front and that's a deep rattle.

JUST CHANGED WATER PUMP, POWER STEERING PUMP, BELT TENSION ASSEMBLY. EVERYTHING OK FOR ABOUT 2 WEEKS AND NOW THERE IS A KNOCK OR RATTLE COMING FROM THE FRONT OF ENGINE. WHEN BELT IS REMOVED THE NOISE GOES...

the damper could be bad if it's the type with the rubber inbetween the pully and the the rest of the damper. check that and see if it is separated. if not looks like your crankshaft bearings could be bad

Loud squealing noise

The noise is most likely the serpentine belt. Check it's condition and that of the belt tensioner. It sounds like the belt is slipping, causing the squealing noise u describe. As the belt warms up, it's getting a better 'grip' and the noise stops. Turning on the heat also turns on the a/c in newer cars, this added drag on the belt (one more component to turn, the a/c compressor) would explain why it happens when u turn on the heat. Is the belt original? If yes, it's time to change it, and check the belt tensioner to make sure it's doing it's job of keeping the belt snug on all the pulleys. Let me know how u make out.
