Fuel pump will not enguage. I have checked the continuity of the wires from the fuel pump to the to the PCM, replaced the fuel pump, filter and solenoid. The inj/fp fuse is good.

I can't stress this enough, GROUND WIRE's, @ pump, @ fuel tank to fill spout, if you have one there, fuel pump RELAY, it may have a fuse in it, when you turn key to ON, do you hear a quiet HUM .......? for 2 seconds ! are all your connections good, have you checked the wires from pump to along frame rail for corrosion, inspect wires closely, for bumps under the insulation of the wire, its corrosion, battery good, clean, terminals tight, did you replace pump yourself ? MAKE SURE ALL GROUND WIRES ARE GOOD, NOT SO..SO..! TIGHT/CLEAN !!!

Coolant leak into Timing chain area on my 2002 Grand Vitara V6 engine.

vehicles that have aluminium housings are subject to corrosion making holes and allowing the coolant to escape in your case into the oil. I would be looking for corrosion holes behind the water pump impellor as the turbulance in this area helps the corrosion . You will have to replace the front housing if it is . It is most important to ensure that the coolant is at the correct concentration to prevent this

I'm leaking out of what looks like the water pump on my 2.8L. But, I no the water pump is be hind the harmonic balancer there is a pipe that this could be any ideas?

It could be the water pump seal that is keaking which is running out the drain hole that is built into the pump to stop water getting into the bearing. Judging on the age of the vehicle, corrosion on the metal of the pump could also have found a weak spot in the pump casting and be causing it to leak. Also check where the raiator hose is clamped to the water pump inlet. A hard and/or split hose or corrosion of the housing at this point could also be the cause of the leak. Replacement of the pump appears to be most obvious remedy.

If you disconnected the battery cables during the fuel pump work you may have disturbed a not so good connection.
It could be the battery cables, or the terminals.
if they are top mount batt terminals, remove them and scrape the inside of the terminals with a pocket knife, to make sure there is no crust. sometimes they look ok but the crust is a disguise.
take a blade and slice open the cable insulation up by the terminal enough to get a peak at the wire inside to make sure there is no corrosion in the cable under the insulation . If there is white frosty corrosion in there, its best to replace it.
If you cant afford to replace it/them you can strip it back and try cleaning it real good with an alkylin base cleaner like purpe power cleaner
The electrons flow on the outside of the wire, if there is corrosion on the wire it can hinder the current.
also check the ground cable to the engine.

Take off water pump

Dis-connect battery, drain coolant, remove fan & radiator cowling ( fan coupling has a left hand thread ) undo 4 x retaining bolts in water pump housing. To get the pump out, you may have to tap it slightly & lever it about as the body fits inside an alloy casting. Before you refit, make sure the housing the pump fit into it clean & free from corrosion or pitting by cleaning with some medium to fine abrasive paper. Put some grease ( not sealer ) around the new pump seal & refit everything else. Remember to bleed the air out of the cooling system before driving. Hope this helps & good luck !
