Question about BMW Cars & Trucks

1 Answer

I had a huge loss of power (no response on accelerator) and a rumbling/vibration noise. I discovered clean break in exhaust. Would not go above 10mph. Would I get such a dramatic power loss please?

See if the wheel bearings are ok Sometimes if you jack the vehicle up and spin the tires by hand you can find this. Just a thought as mine did that and noise went away after it was repaired.

Exhaust bent and touching the frame of body is one possibility. Have it put on a lift and checked for this condition.

Kia hissing noise when accelerating

If it seems to have a loss of power you may have a clogged exhaust, (muffler) system, again if you have a loss of power or it runs ruff check for a vacuum leak.

Have an 86 firebird with 2.8 v6 has loss of power

this can be caused by a plugged catalytic converter, the inside of the exhaust system can rust, break loose, and plug it up resulting in a loss of power. It can make a 'hissing ' noise when trying to accelerate, as the exhaust struggles to escape.
