Plastic injection mold is one of the most commonly used molds in manufacturing thermoplastic products. The processing equipment matching with plastic injection mold is plastic injection molding machine. Firstly, plastic is heated and melt in bed charge cartridge heater of injection molding machine. Then, the plastic enters into cavity of mold though nozzle of injection molding machine and gating system of mold, under the promotion of screw or plunger of injection molding machine. The plastic is cooled and hardened for molding, ejected for products. The structure generally consists of molding parts, gating system, guiding parts, ejecting mechanism, exhaust system and supporting parts. Making materials usually adopt plastic die steel, mainly including carbon structural steel, tool carbon steel, tool alloy steel and high-speed steel. Injection molding is only suitable for manufacturing thermoplastic products. Thermoplastic products made by injection molding are quite wide. Daily necessities, complicated machineries, parts on electric appliances and vehicles are molded by injection mold. It is the most widely used in manufacturing plastic products.

How to select Injection mold steel?

There are many kind of steel: for long runs production, a durable mold is required, the tool steel must be selected properly; for small volume production, steel selection can be as economic as possible as long as it meet the requirement of production demands.
How to choose the injection mold steel? Important steel properties include:
Ease of machining
Dimensional stability after heat treatment
Wear resistance
Surface finish
Corrosion resistance

Mold steel we selected frequently are 1.2344, 1.2343, 1.2312, 1.1730, H13, S136, 2083, etc. Normally we categorized them as pre-harden steel or harden steel. Pre-harden steel can be machined and used directly after purchase, harden steel required heat treatment during process, the machining take longer time, injection mold made by harden steel usually have long service life.

Corrosion resistant hardened steels should be selected when conventional flame retardants are used. In the case of halogen free flame retardant DSM thermoplastics, standard steel types can be selected. Beryllium copper inserts may be used for improved cooling near hot spots. High heat conductivity is also required for gate drops in hot runner molds. Standardization of mold parts is growing, not only for ejector pins, leader pins and bushings, but also for mold plates and even complete mold bases. These standard mold bases require only machining of the cores, cavities and cooling channels and fitting of an ejection system. Advantages are:

Cost savings 3050%
Short delivery times
Interchangeability
Easy and rapid repair

Competition between the Plastic Locker and Steel Locker?

Plastic locker is also known as plastic wardrobe or wardrobe or steel locker (ABS locker). With its unique material, moisture proof, rustproof, impact resistance, heat resistance, acid and alkali resistance and other advantages, plastic locker is widely used in all kinds of special places, such as swimming pool, gymnasium, university bathhouse, beach, fitness center, bath center, station, subway station, big industrial mining companies, department stores, supermarkets, libraries, stadiums, ski resorts, golf courses, and many other places.Using ABS plastic granules and steel casting mould, plastic locker is molded through injection molding of big machine. It has features of moisture proof, corrosion resistance, wear resistance, non-toxic, tasteless, gorgeous color and lustre, colorfastness, never rust and long service life. Nowadays many domestic Shanghai manufacturers, for the purpose of reducing cost, produce and sale of ABS lockers, most of which are made by recycled plastic with product quality far beyond that of real material ABS. Therefore when consumers buy this product, try to choose products of international famous manufacturers, especially imported from abroad.Using high quality cold-rolled steel plate, steel locker is made after shearing, punching, bending, welding, installation. Plate thickness is 0.6 mm (0.5-1.0 mm optional). Some steel lockers select high specification fusion welding, with smooth appearance. Steel wardrobe door chooses imported plastic powder electrostatic spray molding and it is disposed through nine severe procedures (hot water wash, pre-skim, skim, cold water wash, surface conditioning, phosphating, etc.) to strengthen the maintenance of appearance and protect it from being influenced by wet environment. It is equipped with label box, stainless steel handle, ventilation window, and pores to ensure the air circulation inside it. The luxury locker is attached with logo of lock and unlock. Patent design of clad door, with generous appearance, increases space. It is also equipped with internal dressing mirror and stainless steel clothes rail. Steel locker is suitable for various companies, hotels, campus, swimming pool, playgrounds, dormitories and other local locker room or storage room.Through summarizing the difference between the two kinds of locker, we know what kind of locker to choose in corresponding situation, and this is also very important for us.

Headlight bulb burnt out. Upon replacing bulb, found the plug had been hot and burnt the plastic mold around plug. The prong hole was also black. New replacement bulb also burnt out immediately.

Welcome to Fixya
This is a common problem with headlight bulb higher than the 60W bulb. You can actually replace the plug with a ceramic type so that it wont melt. This happens to my car. I am using halogen bulb and burned the plastic mold together with the bulb. Replacing the plastic mold with ceramic type mold fixed the problem.

What are spider injectors and how much are they

The term "spider injectors" stems from the Vortec Series Engine's fuel injection system. Unlike fuel injectors that are installed individually commonly used in engines, this one piece molded plastic web body which all 6 or 8 injectors are permantly attached(94-96), when looked at resembles a look of a spider. est. cost $350-$450. In 97 on up, GM changed from the fixed injector (If one injector goes bad you need to change the whole or all injectors) to being able to individually change each injector. est cost $50-$150 ea.

Your solution to stall problem

Hello,

I did not specify which hoses because there are a number of hoses both over and under the fuel injection unit. (Left side of engine as viewed from the drivers seat) Some are water hoses so be careful! Best thing to do if you cannot identify the culprit by exception is to get a shop manual and replace all that look suspicious. Please be aware that not all the hoses are universal ie. can be cut to length from similar diameter hose. Some hoses are "molded" meaning they're formed to a particular shape, usually because a straight hose will bend or collapse in the particular location. You will need to get molded hose either from Volvo or a well stocked import car parts store.

Good Luck!

Interior door handle replacement 1992 honda accord

Do u mean the door latch, which u pull to open the door, or the plastic molded handle u grab to shut the door? If it's the latch, there are two small round plugs in the plastic area of the door lock and locking switch. Use a small flat end screwdriver to pry them out , exposing two philips head screws. If this isn't what u needed, let me know, I'll get more info for u. countrycurt0
