Mazda 3 idling goes up and down we cleaned the throttle problem still there, it does it when I get the gear to neutral when stopping it goes 5 to 6 times then becomes normal

Well, to get it in gear, you can do a few things. The first being press the clutch in and run it through all of the gears without applying throttle and then try reverse again. You can also let off the clutch half way and slightly pull the shifter in to reverse. As you let off, it'll eventually pop right in to gear.

This is easily done … all you need is a piece of wire (like a straightened glider clip) and a screwdriver.

When facing the engine with the bonnet up you will see a little black box on the top of the passenger side wheel arch, with the words "DIAGNOSIS" embossed on it. Open it up by pushing on the top of the side clip. There will be a number of cells inside, some with terminal points. The lid of the box contains the key to these cells. When you insert one end of your wire into the TEN cell and the other in the GND cell, it causes the ECU to be bypassed and the ambient idle setting will be used.

Follow the black air intake tube which runs in front of the engine block to where it meets the intake plenum on the driver's side of the engine - that’s the throttle body. On the top left side of the throttle body you will see a small raised cylindrical section, sometimes with a black plastic covering, which contains a large Phillips head-topped screw. This is the idle adjustment screw. It turns anti-clockwise to increase the ambient idle speed.

So now here is the procedure.
1) Make sure that the engine is warm, but not hot.
2) Turn off all electrical items (fan, radio and lights)
3) Start the car and after it settles into a regular idle notice where the needle is on the tachometer. It should be just over the graduation mark below the "1". (around 850/900 rpm)
4) Bridge the TEN and GND cells
5) You should notice the idle speed change after a few seconds.
6) Have a look at the tachometer. If the ambient idle speed moved then you have discovered the problem.
7) Slowly turn the idle screw until the revs come up to just over the graduation mark on the tachometer.
8) Do this slowly, as there is a slight lag in screwing and response.
9) If the radiator fans come on during the process then stop adjusting and wait for it to go off.
10) When you have it idling where you think it should be remove the bridging wire. In a few seconds the ECU idle setting will kick in. If the engine remains at the same rpm then you have matched the ambient idle to the ECU setting.
11) If not, then replace the bridge and adjust the idle screw,
12) Repeat steps 10 and 11 until the idle speeds are matched.

fuel pump is working but when accelerating it doesnt pump enough fuel up to the engine then it will fall on its face if it is a electric pump you may have to drop the tank if it is inside and replace it if it is on the engine replace it thats what is exactly wrong with it

Sounds like it could possibly be a vaccume problem, the computer sees that the vaccume has a low pressure and thus fludding the engine, or visa versa, it's seeing too high of a pressure and cutting the fuel comsumption to a minumum enough to make the engine sputter and die.. Does this happen when the cars in Netural or Reverse or Park? Just Drive?

Where is the idle air control valve on a 2012 mazda 5 and can it be cleaned or should it be replaced?

I work on to many. But every IAC motors are mounted the the throttle body. But being a 2012, you have a electronic throttle. No IAC motor. Best to have codes read. Just a note. Dirty electronic throttle can do the same. They can be removed and cleaned. Not hard to remove. Clean them with a toothbrush and break clean. MAF sensor can be sprayed down to clean. Do not use a brush on these.

No the idle issue is not the TPS, it is a sludged up throttle valve and automatic idle speed control air bypass valve. The procedure below should cure the idle issue. As far as the vibration goes this needs a hands on diagnosis by a good noise and harness trained tech, tire shops are good for this technican as well of course the Dodge dealer. Find below the cleaning procedure for the throttle valve and idle valve
Buy a can of throttle valve cleaner (it is made by CRC) from the local auto parts store, NEVER USE CARB CLEANING SPRAY, IT DESTROYS THE ANTI-STICK TEFLON COATING, spray it into the air intake through the throttle body of the engine until you have used about half the can, you will need to hold the idle up while you do this, it will try to stall, after this shut the engine down and disconnect the Negative (-) battery cable for 5 minutes. The intake is now clean, if you continue to have the idle speed control problems you may need to seek the help of a professional

Idle up and down when Neutral

The clutch perssure plates seems worne off. you will have to replace them .
You can start by adjusting the clutch setting for a few days and if still problem persists then go in for a pressure plate change..

When a/c is turned on idles rough and rpms drop put in neutral and idles fine in gear rough idle when you come to stop already changed egr valve not the problem

See if the idle control is working. I have a protegee that does the same thing, although the cause of mine is diffrent, it is the torque converter clutch not disengaging when stopped. Read the code, and see if there are any. Auto Zone will read it for free and give you a print out.

The idle goes high and low

there was a tsb on those for the neutral switch. it can cause all sorts of funky problems. usually you get a check eng. light with egr code and imrc code. can cause erattic idle, stalling, and alot of confusion. it is located behind a bracket under the transmission. you can check continuity wile putting the shifter in and out of gear. also there in a tsb on the clutch pedal switch that can do the same thing. you can look under the dash and make sure that the rubber stopper is completely engaging an diengaging the switch, and you can check continuity there as well. hope this helps you... dustang

near the throttle body there is an adjusting screw(flat head) for air fuel mixture, it's on a deep cavity sometimes with a cover, adjust counterclockwise will increase the idle.

My '01 Mustang V6 revs high when in neutral/when changing gears.

sounds more like the IAC, Idle air control valve.. they can be cleaned with carb and choke cleaner gently...

here is what you need to do, a cleaning of the intake throttle blade and the idle speed control air-bypass valve, they get full of gunk over the miles and cause idle issues (stalls) like yours,
Get a can of intake cleaner from any local parts store, not carb spray, intake cleaner, it is made by a company called CRC, remove the air intake hose to the engine, hold the idle high so the engine won't stall, then spray the can of cleaner into the intake while keeping the engine running, use at least 1/2 the can, shut down the engine and disconnect the battery for 5 minutes, then restart and complete a number of mixed driving cycles, town, freeway, stop and go etc., after a few days the problem will go away as the system will relearn to the clean intake
