I cant seem to locate the starter on my Vuka.It was standing for about 6 months. The battery and everything seems to be working fine but when I press the ignition starter nothing happens. Please help

Try tracing the positive wires from the battery. Also try a jump start with all electronics off. I've never heard of a vuka if you can identify the back of motor and front of transmission it will be sling that seam somewhere could have dust cover over it as well hope this helps

You need to check for worn or broken gear teeth on the flywheel ring gear.

Replaced starter in 2002 tundra, now the starter spins but does not engage

sounds like you need to shim out the starter so the bendex gear in the starter engages with the flywheel/flexplate. as long as the bendex gear in the starter comes out the casing and spins shimming it will take care of that problem

92 honda civic hatchback new starter spins does not engage flywheel, could it be a fuse

unlikely as the motor spins. It appears that the motore solenoid is allowing the motor to spin before engaging the teeth in the ring gear. ON a lot of starters the pivot pin is adjustable to allow for correct engagement.Remove the starter and check that the solenoid is fact connected to the clutch part of the starter. Check that you have the correct starter for the engine

My starter spins but but doesn't engage the fly wheel. Solenoid or starter?

starter, take out and try across battery and it should whirr and jump out as if connecting with flywheel, if no spray the whole starter with WD40 inside and leave overnight. worked for me.

2000 chevy impala, starter spins but does not engage

if the starter spins but does not engage flywheel. then its the starter solinoid thats bad. its on top of starter, when key is turned to start, the solinoid is activated, and it pushes the gears out to make contact with flywheel to start vehicle. so the solinoid just spins with out kicking out to flywheel. change solinoid or get another starter. have a good day !

When i start the 95 tahoe, i hear a spinning noise. starter is not engaging the engine. it's a brand new starter.

Hello there:
The spinning that you are hearing is the bendix spinning there is a
engagement spring that forces the bendix to engage on the flywheel
If this spring is weak or broke the bendix cant engage furthermore if the teeth on the bendix are broke or chipped or the teeth on the fly wheel are chipped or broke -this will not allow the bendix to engage or start to turn the motor ok so i would have these things checked out ok?
I hope that this is very helpful for you best regards
michael
