There are many things which can cause this behaviour. Amongst them are:

  • Defect in radio.
  • Automatic power-on by design.
  • Radio has the ability to schedule when it turns on, such as a wake-up alarm.
Knowing what year/make/model of vehicle and radio would help the community troubleshoot your issue more quickly.

Radio volume increases to the maximum by itself

Check if TA (Traffic Announce) function is turned on - sometimes radio station is using that feature improperly, thus causing volume to go up by itself.

Radio

You could have a stuck button that is blocking the rest of the buttons from functioning. Check the hand controls on the steering and if all is ok, try get the radio out and unplug it. If this now gives you heater display and functionality the problem is on the radio itself.

Before you delve too deep, disconnect the battery for a few minutes. Sometimes they just get "confused" and need a reboot! Its worth a try!

Sounds like a feedback. When you car is running it charges the system. Your radio may need to be rewired to a separate fuse to the panel

Radio turns on by itself

Very complex problem, could be your steering wheel controls, ECM sending false digital signals or just a bad radio (internal contacts bad) or maybe someone (a child usually) has inserted a penny or such into the disc opening. Yes it has happened before. Replacing the stereo with an aftermarket unit might be the best bet on pricing. Good Luck!

How do i reprogramme the radio on my audi tt please

what you may do is....turn the car off and then turn the radio on.. don't do anything with the car for one hour. meaning leave the radio on for one full hour and the radio itself will reset itself. the radio will turn off.turn the radio on..on the radio it will say... BOSE..press and hold both button RDS and FM2 until the radio resets to 0000 ..then enter in your code..once you enter your code press and hold the two buttons again..this will work...

When there is a CD playing, there is no problem. But when I take the CD out, the radio does not function properly. It switches back to CD and then changes the radio station every 1-2 minutes!I can not turn...

Unfortunately, this sounds like an internal problem with the radio. Internal as in within the radio itself, not a wiring problem. Not really much you can do about it. Sorry. Probably need a new radio. Good luck.
