Faema Carisma S1, bought in 2014-TWN, the pressure gage can not return to bottom "0", is not working(can not release), if working the pressure gage going to 15kg , pls help me how to repair it. Thks

At idle, at operating temp is there any ticking from top end of engine? Are there any knocking noises brom bottom end?
If no noises, change oil and add some Marvel oil to clean out galleys. If that dosent work, change oil pressure sendingf unit. Also, if you have a mechanical oil pressure gauge, hook it up and take a direct reading. Oil pressure (in any vehicle) at idle should NEVER be less than 15psi. Generally in 4.0 jeep engines it's never less than 30, with a high reading at driving rpm of about 40-60! (but, you did not mention what engine you have)

At this point I would strongly suggest that you have your mechanic hook a mechanical oil pressure guage to the engine and make absolutlely sure that the pressure is up to manufacturers standards. It may simply be a failing oil pressure sending unit, but, until you know, it could turn out a lot more expensive! Thank you, Dana

What engine size , because could have come with a few different ones ? Engine oil pressure sensor is a input to the PCM - engine computer . This will turn on check engine light if thier is a problem ! What is the problem your having , oil light on , oil pressure gauge not working ?

The instrument panel cluster (IPC) displays the engine oil pressure as determined by the powertrain control module (PCM). The IPC receives a class 2 message from the PCM indicating the engine oil pressure. The engine oil pressure gage defaults to 0 kPa (0 psi) or below if:
• The PCM detects a malfunction in the engine oil pressure sensor circuit.
• The IPC detects a loss of class 2 communications with the PCM.

Why does my 2014 Jeep Compass Limited (2.4 liter engine) shut down, with the fuel guage reading empty, when there is fuel in the tank?


If the vehicle is still under warranty, take it to the dealership and let them fix it.
Otherwise, I'd use a fuel pressure gage and check correct fuel pressure. Maybe some other issue caused it to shut down?

Oil pressure drop


If you know for a fact the sending unit is working and you do have 35psi when the engine is hot, it could be the gauge on the dash. You may need to install an external gauge, manual or electric. Or replace the cluster.

Replace the oil pressure sending unit, they are notorious for this problem.

I have a 1989 iroc Camaro 5.7 multiport. just installed a new engine. ok car runs fine I dive it to work and that's about 25 miles. for got to say I also put a new fuel filter and fuel pump in. about 1/4...


If you replaced fuel pump, you should have checked orientation of float to make sure it doesn't hit a baffle or anything.
You can use resistors to see if fuel gage reacts properly to the resistors, 90 ohms is full
0 ohms is empty. The wire colors for sending unit are pink and black. Take connector loose, use resistor between proper terminals, key on. If the gage reacts properly, the problem is in the gas tank.
Use a gage, check proper fuel pressure, 34--47 psi.
As far as pressure in the gas tank, check evap system where applicable or vent tube.

Low oil pressure


could be as simple as your gage isn't working or it could be your oil pump needs to be replaced, if it isnt burnning oil and isnt loosing oil more than likly it's your gage ,if the pump's not working you won't get oil; to the engine and will over heat and could lock up

How to replace 2003 mitsubishi lancer fuel level sensor. My fuel gague is going half to zero when the tank is having fuel. It's not showing exact fuel left


Hi.

You need to release pressure from fuel lines cutting power to fuel pump.Turn on engine and remove fuel pump fuse. See:How To Release Pressure
Then disconnect battery.
Take down the fuel tank working from under backseat and underneath the car.
The fuel sender is located inside protective Housing. Remove housing held by 4 screws.
Disconnect electrical connector.
Disconnect the two hoses connected to sensor. Be careful with fuel that may still spray at pressure.
Perform operations in reverse order to reinstall.

2003 1500 silverado 5.3l engine oil pressure gauge reads high and wil not reset to 0lbs. when engine is shut off. i have replaced the oil sending unit


The 2003 gm vehicles have a common problem within the instrument cluster panel. Each gage has a "stepper motor" soldered to the back side of the circuit board; and a very small shaft protroding through the circuit board with a needle for the gage attached . The stepper motors are about the size of a quarter in diameter with four terminals. They are small gearmotors. They do not have a spring return; so when they fail their needles do not return to home (0 psi for example or 0 miles/hour). You can find reputable repair shops online. One I know of in Minnesota is www.speedometerrepairguy.com. I bought the parts from him (on ebay) and soldered them myself but beware you need advanced soldering skills here not to mention a very good magnifying glass to inspect the solder joints. I hope this helps.
In my case the speedometer was hanging up in cold weather.
Replacing the stepper motors cured my troubles.
