Sounds like a valve is not opening on your heater supply hose. To get heat the water pump diverts engine water into the heater core. This is done by opening a diverter valve.

My 2002 Mazda tribute ran hot. I found out my heater connection was broke. But when I replaced it. It still ran hot and now it taps real loud when the motor gets hot.

Need to discover why it is running hot to start with but not drive if it is causing the motor to get noisy. Overheating can be due to a thermostat stuck closed, cooling fan not turning on, low coolant level etc. Need to get to the bottom of the overheating before engine is damage badly.

Vauxhall astra 1.7 td heater not getting hot

Assuming the fan works ok, it sounds like the cable from hand control to heater valve has come off or needs adjusting or replacing. Or (less likely) there is a problem with the mechanical valve. The valve needs to open to allow hot water to flow through to the mini radiator (heater radiator) and then both coolant pipes and mini radiator get hot with a warm engine. Try moving the valve lever by hand (somewhere above the clutch pedal).and If you start getting heat with the fan on the fault is the cable..

Heat not hot

Have you checked your heater hoses to see if they are both getting hot? If you do and only one is getting hot (really hot) then you may have a clogged heater core. Also you AC/Heat valve may be malfunctioning witch may be the valve or a vacuum issue. Really need more info to help.

I have a reostat type hot/cold control on my 02 bonneville, and it will not blow hot, always cold. please advise . . . . .

this sounds like the hot cold blend door is not working and is always stuck on hot, this is located on the heaterbox, you will need to locate by watching as you move all controls until you find the one that doesnt move, then remove it and turn door by hand and try to see if hot air comes out, you will need to make sure when the blower is turned on the door doesnt swing back you may need to hold as you test and then is you get hot air replace that one. hope this is helpful.

2005 dodge ram heater does not get hot, just barely warm. When I increase blower speed, it gets colder. Coolant level is full, air flow is good, used to get hot but not anymore. Any ideas where my problem...

First check your radiator cap to make sure theres no pressure escaping. The cooling system needs pressure to push the hot water to the heater core. You also need to look at your heater core itself. With the engine running touch the lines coming in to the heater core through the firewall. If they're both hot you may need to replace the core, if only one is hot you've got a blockage in the cooling system preventing the flow to the heater core.
