Depending on how cold your area was --may have blown seals --a line --look under for a leak area and check fluid levels also any moisture around clutch may be frozen together to the flywheel

1988 ford ranger manual truck can not shift

Look and see if there is a second master cylinder under the hood of your truck, near the brake master cylinder, in fornt of the driver's seat.
This would be the clutch master cylinder, and should be slightly smaller than the brake nmaster cylinder.
From your description, that clutch master cylinder may be out of fluid, brake fluid.
Probably your slave cylinder has failed, it is attached to your transmission on the other (lower end) of the brake line from the firewall master cylinder.
Adding brake fluid might get the clutch to work long enough to get your car to a garage or up on some ramps so you can fix it.
Be blessed

My 1989 Ford F150 manual transmission is stuck in reverse, even when the truck is turned off. The day before it grinded / hard shifting into 1st and 2nd gear. The next day it would only go into first if...

YOU NEED TO PULL THE TRANS AND REPLACE THE SLAVE CYL IF THE FLUID IS LEAKING AT ALL ONE WAY OR THE OTHER YOU WILL END UP REPLACING THE CLUTCH MASTER CYL BUT THIS TIME YOU NEED TO GAIN ACCESS TO THE SLAVE CYL AND APPLY PRESSURE TO IT HOLDING IT BACK WHILE SOMEONE PUMPS THE PEDAL AND YOU BLEED IT WORKS

I need to turn the car off in order to put it in gear.i don't feel anything when i press the clutch pedal

sounds like you may have lost the clutch slave cylinder or master cylinder. Check the fluid level on the clutch fluid reservoir. If it's low or empty, you may have lost a seal in the cylinder(s).
Fill with fluid first and pump it up to see if you get any pressure and clutch release. If not, try bleeding the system to get any air out of the lines, and retry. Check for fluid leaks.

My 1994 ford rangers clutch pedal just lost all pedal

There are two types of clutch actuators. (Mechanical & Hydtraulic)
A. For mechanical type,- Check the clutch cable as
this could be cut from wear and tear. This is easy
to replace. You can find this connected to the
pedal and the clutch lever near the transmission.
B.For hydraulic operated - Check the level of the
hydraulic oil at the cylinder of the hydraulic
actuator under the hood. This actuator is
directly connected to the pushrod driven by the
pedal. If the actuator is leaking, you have buy
a repair kit (Hyraulic clutch repair kit for Ford
Ranger 1994 MOdel.) These items must be
repaired to activate your pedal.

Car wont go into gear

Have you ever replaced the clutch? If not you may need a new cluctch. It could also be your clutch slave cylinder.

The latter is much less expensive and in some cars very easy to change (i did it myself on an old Mazda Rx-7 and I'm a girl!). Hope these suggestions help.
