No engine stated, 4 banger or v6 but same answer.
there is no such sensor until 1996
why not post the problem or a symptom
and ask for help.
like
wont' crank.
cranks but will not start.
starts and stalls.
starts, runs but misfires.
like that.
get a tuneup yet?> (crystal ball)
V6 (guessing yours)
if you meant crank sensor its on the right side of engine block center.

seen here, CKP "crank sensor"
if you look for a CMP on line you will find it
but its Bunk, it's not there, stores mix parts up. et cetra.

    do not google for sensors.
its a wasted effort, (Google uses fuzzy logic and that fails on complex electronics, and cars)
better, start post with engine sizes
    then post symptoms... a win/win,

    let me elaborate facts.
in late 1995, all car makers in USA
had to comply to the new OBD2 rule (EPA)
and the whole EFI system was radicallly(sic) changed.
This day was by law (mfg date not model date)
July 1, 1995, this is a key date to remember. (build dates)
on or near that magic day, all cars here changed.
so what changed, (a huge list)
1: new ECU, and all new harneses.
2: new sensors, and new 02 sensors added, 1 or 2. (4 and 6 bangers different)
    3: and more... lots more.
4: a new OBD2 scan port, Called DLC.
and now all scan tools sold work, (magic)

on this day , they added, a CAM sensor
to increase accuracy to the point that
    OBD2 misfire detection features work.
if you can scan the car, with OBD2 then you have this sensor, if not, there is no CMP cam sensor.
there, that is as accurate as I can get
not touching or seeing your car.

2001 isuzu trooper code 1340

Hello,
A 1340 error code for your Isuzu Trooper means that the engine is experiencing a "Camshaft Position Sensor B Circuit Malfunction" which would mean the computer isn't exactly sure where the camshaft is located in it's rotation. If the issue is intermittent then look for a broken wire, if it's solid then the sensor needs replacing!
Good Luck & please rate this solution!
