Hi my 02 town car does not start can you help me out in telling what could probably be the problem?? I already change the fuel pump..

If it cranks but won't start and it's getting fuel then it is either an ignition system problem, mechanical timing problem or weak compression. Most likely a faulty coil/ignition module, or cam or crank position sensor.

1996 lincoln town car well crank but wont start. these happend same time last year had 2 replace 2 sensors but we had somone else do it so dont now what sensors or were they are. or if its that.

The crank sensor wires may be oil soaked, try moving them a little and see if it will start. It's beside the crank pulley on the passenger side. Got my lincoln started that way.

How to Test a Crank Censor

There is no way of testing a crank sensor, unless you have a special tool that reads the pulses emmited by the sensor itself, only garages and good mechanics have this tool. its done while the vehicle is running. If your cars computer is telling you that there is no crank sensor signal, maybe the sensor is bad.

Have your EGR valve checked. I just replaced one on a 95 towncar. It's my girl-friends car. It was $50.00 at Auto Zone. Local shops wanted $300. to replace it.

1996 lincoln car turns over but will not start check engine light not showing at intial turn

CEL should come on with key on engine off. As you are cranking vehicle it should go off then after about 10 seconds of cranking it should come back on while cranking,if it does not then the PCM is not seeing a signal from the crankshaft postion sensor.
