We get heat in the rear but not in the front of our 2000 yukon

We have heating issues with 2000 Yukon. The rear heats up but not the front. Everything seems to be blowing and moving.

Sounds like a plugged up heater core. If you feel of the hoses that go into and come out of the front heater core they should both be hot. If only one is, you might get lucky and be able to have it cleaned out without taking your dash out.

My gmc yukon 2000 slt rear ac blows hot air when i have ac . on and the front works fine .

I have a 2000 GMC Savana Van SLT with front and rear AC/Heat. My front would blow hot while the rear blew cold with AC on. It turned out to be low on Freon. It's hard to know if you have the right amount of freon installed because pressures vary depending on the ambient temperatures. So the best way is to remove all the freon then reinstall the recommended amount as listed on the evaporator housing near the firewall. This worked fine for me... works like new after installing the correct amount of freon.

The rear A/C works but the heat does not on my 04 yukon.

Could be the swap valve/damper not opening to allow air to flow thru heater core in rear or control switch not telling it to change.

I have a gmc yukon , front a/c works fine, thou the rear a/c does not blow cold air. The fan still works thou once engine is heated up, rear air blows heat.

you have a seperate peice for the rear air in the side panel in the very back of truck that either needs freon or replaced if thats the case you need to take it some where that knows how to change it but when my friends went out it was expensive to have it fixed

Hey i found a link for you with step by step pictures and literature on how to fix this problem. Apparently it's a common thing with yukon/tahoes. Web site; http://www.fullsizechevy.com/forums/general-discussion/technical-maintenance/313280-tahoe-rear-air-has-no-heat-just-blowing-cold.html. Good luck, hope i helped.

Rear heat in 2004 gmc yukon blows only cold air when turned to heat. driver heated seat button lights up for only a few seconds and turns off.

I have a 2006 yukon and have had to replace the actuator in the rear heat/ac twice.  It moves a valve that closes the cold/hot ducts.  It is a cheap defective part/design.
