I have misplaced the key fob. I have checked the car but have not located it. How far away does the key fob work from the car?

the fob will not start the car unless the button is being pushed so it is logical that the second fob that your are using that is doing the job
as to distance from the car talk with a service technician but the distance will be around 30 ft max
if the fob will not unlock the doors until you get close then that is an indication of the range of the fib

Customer Key Programming
You can program new keys to the system if you have two
valid keys by doing the following:

1. Cut the additional Sentry Key Transponder blank(s) to
match the ignition switch lock cylinder key code.
etc...

so for this car always have 2 keys, make 1 more
and can make up to 8 total keys.

2 day one and 6 more by you, for life of car
or my key shop can reset all mine to zero keys
and reprogram from 0.
and i just did on my WK jeep.

Why does the horn randomly blow?

You may have to replace the key fob. You could just stop using it and go back to the old fashioned key.

try both fobs that came with car new?>yet>
1 at a time , other far away?
fobs are cheep, not car electronics so assume cheap is bad. first.
new battery in fob
clean fob. (youtube how)
new fob works better.
if the switches gum up , they can stick closed. in the fob.

Door unlock then locks itself

try the other fob.
the buttons on fobs can short.(its just a plastic membrane with carbon pad in the fob and can go bad.(cracks or crumbles inside...........)
so put the suspected fob far away from car, and use the good new fob. work now, and a new FOB battery, too.
if you only have one fob, now's the time to get the spare.
no fob lasts forever. not not ever.

I cannot lock or unlock my car with my key fob

Test the battery inside key fob, should be at 3 volts, if is less than 3 volts replace the battery. If that does not work you may need to replace the key fob, on this vehicle you can program the key fob through the radio, the car manual shows you how to do this.

Before replacing the old key fob you can try to resinc the fob to the car by pressing the lock and unlock buttons at the same time for about 15 sec, if the door locks cycle the the fob will work again.

Remote key fob no longer opening the doors / disabling the alarm but fob does start the car

Inside the key fob are contacts that get dirty, both the electric side and the push button side, carefully clean them both.

My car doors wont lock. Everytime i click the door fob it is locking and unlocking immediatly.

Could be the battery in the key fob needs replacing. Also check that the battery inside the fob is not loose and making good contact on the battery contacts. You might need to bend the contacts out a little so the battery fits tighter in the fob. Could also be a sticking button the fob. You can dis-assemble the fob and make sure the button action on the fob pcb is good. Otherwise the fob might be defective or the cars reciever is defective. If you have a spare fob try using it to see if it changes. If you get the same results with the spare fob then I would point to a problem with the car's reciever.

Kia Rio 1.5 diesel Factory alarm, car horn honking, side indicators flashing, unable to start the car. When I arm the car with the fob and unlock the door with the key then open the door the horn starts...

The fob is infamous for its battery life. It gets drained so quickly that there happens to be a little later when the fob is very close to the door lock, ignition & unnecessary triggers the alarm due to low reception as the battery of the fobs discharges very fast, depending on the model, which has a certain virtual sheild(STARTRECK type) which is triggered by the fobs strength of the signal(radi waves).

Why not try a new set of batteries for your fob?? .................................sodeep
