Tighten in sequence to 29ft.lbs then tighten in sequence to 58ft lbs. then loosen all bolts. Then tighten in sequence to 33ft lbs. then tighten each bolt in sequence 90 degrees then tighten each bolt again 90 degrees

Install the cylinder head bolts and torque in sequence as follows:

  1. Step 1: 72 ft. lbs. (98 Nm).
  2. Step 2: Completely loosen all bolts.
  3. Step 3: 26-32 ft. lbs. (34-44 Nm).
  4. Step 4: plus 90-95 degrees clockwise.
  5. Step 5: plus 90-95 degrees clockwise.

Need cyl head torque settings on a Nissan xtrail 2L XR motor


Buy a repair manual for the vehicle... They are made for every type of car/truck etc, etc... The precise torque specs and tightening proceedure will be found there.. You tighten head bolts in increments according to the manufactures proper proceedures.. Basic..
