misfires are from mechanical faults ( loose valve seat insert, problem hydraulic tappets 0 injectors -- wiring, injector tips , low fuel pressure ECM to electronic problems , plug, HT lead distributor cap (if no multi coils) rotor button, coils and ignition control module

What is causing the P0300 random misfire code on my 2001 Mitsubishi montero limited (not sport)?

misfires are for faulty electrics ---plugs, HT leads, distributor coils ECM but they are also from low fuel pressure , faulty injectors, faulty injector wiring
now you say at 5300 rpms is at the top end range so items to check are the fuel pressure ( should be at around 55-65 psi constant) fuel flow (filters , EVAP venting problem
Plugs with excessive gap, Low quality HT leads or faulty leads --excessive resistance is stopping spark at high pulses
ignition control module --failing at high cycles and coil or coils not good enough to handle the high cycles
If you have a distributor , then it may be worn bushes in the distributor that is initiating the misfire by not running true in the housing causing the rotor button to be missing spark for certain leads

I own a 2003 GMC w 6.0 litre and the it throws the code random/multiple misfire I think code is P0300. it's fine for days even weeks before code shows up again. RDP shows on dash can't go over 50-60

random misfires can be from ignition side of things or it could be from fuel side of things
check fuel pressures
check wiring to injectors
check coil/s and ht wires
check ht leads are not touching each other
if you have a distributor cap check for cracks ,moisture and carbon inside cap

code p0300 refers to random/ multiple cylinder misfires detected===causes spark plugs---HT leads---injector/s---ignition coils---low compression ---wiring. Have fuel pressure test done on the fuel manifold to check pump, fuel pressure regulator and filter (low pressure will cause injectors to not work when they should.) ensure that there is space between HT leads as they will cross jump

06 Cobalt LT 2.2 misfire on #1 cyl. Local parts check code

misfires can be caused by plugs , HT leads and coil/s-- AND--- bad injectors, low fuel pressure. Pull the injector for no 1 and have it checked t may be the injector or the wires and connections for that injector. Make sure that the HT leads are not touching each other as it may cause a misfire on the cylinder as well

Vw code 16687

code refers to cylinder misfire no 3 cylinder detected==causes--spark plug--HT lead/s--injector--ignition coil--low compression-- wiring. Have a compression test done to check for engine head gasket/ valve faults first as it would be a waste of money to replace everything else to find that was the fault. Replace the coil then the HT lead ending up with the plug

Misfiring in cylinder 6 so i changed the plugs and now I'm looking at the fuel filter

have you checked the HT Lead? or if is the coil failure? Also check if there is not any fault on the previous - if the injector on that cylinder is working correct and not pouring the fuel.Since you removed the spark plugs have you checked if No:6 was wet or dry?
