How do you know when the fans should or should not work ? The PCM - engine control module tells the fans when to work . A coolant temp. sensor inputs coolant temp info to the PCM . Fans can come on when the vehicle isn't running , depending on temp. The cooling fans are turned on by the PCM using three relays . You best bet would be to take your vehicle to a qualified repair shop . Relay Driven Dual Cooling Fan Diagnostics

My 2007 chevy uplander's cooling fan kicks on the moment I start the engine, stops when I turn off the engine, temp gauge reads normal, check engine light is not on, thermostat is ok, flushed radiator,...

Hi Bajil, Have a diagnostic scan carried out and have the coolant temperature sensor and relay inspected for correct operation. It sounds as if a cable has become disconnected or that the operating circuit has become defective. The cooling circuit operation is correct when the fan operates when the engine temperature raises a fraction above normal. The fan will run for a number of seconds and then switch off, thereby maintaining the 'normal' operating temperature. Regards John

I have a 2005 Chevy Uplander, and when driving on the highway at about 60-65, the van occasionally drops RPM's and when you press the gas harder, it recovers without any jerking or anything. The same...

This is a rare one and can be tricky. Since your rpm gauge rises back up when you increase your acceleration slightly but you feel no jerking of acceleration then this tells me that a speed/rpm senser either has a bad connecton or the sensor itself is going bad when the engine reaches an optimum heat while driveing on the highway. Since you feel no acceleration when you slightly press the accelerator down but yet the rpm gauge is increasing back to normal, the throttle body sensor may be compensating for the failed speed sensor/failed sensor connector. Please get your uplander diagnosed properly first to confim this.

I need to install a radiator fan relay for a 2005 Chevy Uplander but I don't know where it goes..In FAN 1, FAN 2 or FAN 3

A simple way is to exmine the relays, if they are all the same, number and configuration, you can swap them around until the fan you are trying to enable runs, then discard and replace the last one you unpluged, or look at a schematic diagram usually in the owners manuel or available at the dealership for reference.

Heated seat stopped working on my 2005 chev uplander... Could this be a simple fuse problem?

First check the fuse and the connection under the seat. If these are both ok disconnect the heater connection under the seat and use a multimeter to see if the heating element is operational.

High speed fan running all the time

if temperature is over 80 degres outside, or the ac pressure over 250, it will be on all the time, but if still doing it, like abnormal, then have the a/c presuure swtch replace or inspect.
