I have 1971 xy falcon and compliance plate lists trim as "T". Cannot find what colour this represents

Probably a Tan colour in the range of all Tan colours. Even if the car had been carefully resprayed, the true colour lies behind the compliance plate because the plate is added after the factory spray paints the car, then it is never removed. If you can remove the plate you will probably see the originally factory paint of a Tan colour. Do not forget to replace the plate with rivets. Cheers bro.

Water get into oil

Water in oil makes the oil go grey / milky or white . Check the cooling system by a pressure test and if it is holding then it will not be water in the oil.. If you are referring to transmission oil then the tan colour indicates burnt oil, and must be replaced. Water in that oil will also be a white cherry/ milky colour.

92 vw jetta,wont start,runs for3 seconds,when i turn ignition switch on,nodash lights,only battery light appears,no other lightslightup like before,locks work,dont understand what to do now

Is this a 92 Jetta like you describe or a 02 Jetta TDI? If it's a 92 Jetta, I can almost guarantee the ignition switch is bad. Common failure. They're cheap, but require special tools and experience to remove.

WHERE IS THE SENSOR LOCATED?

This is a known problem. The temp sensors go bad every so often. VW recognized this a few years back, updated the sensor and accordingly changed the colour from brown to green. oops.... They still go bad. The sensor is on the drivers side of the engine, on the back of the head in what looks like the thermostat housing. If you have a man trans there's a set of glow plugs commin out of it. This is the only temp sensor on the TDI. There's a plastic horseshoe clip (the dealer should have offer you one when you bought the sensor) you have to pop out, then wiggle the sensor until it comes out. MAKE SURE THE OLD O-RING COMES OUT, this will make instaling the new sensor much easier and will prevent your all your coolant from leaking out.... Yah, I seen it done, not good. Worst part is you can't see what you are dooing so good but its fairly simple. Good luck and happy motoring

Dodge caravan cooling and heating troubleshooting

Was the sludge Orange or more of a tan or brown colour? If there is a tan or brown colour sludge in the rad, this usually indicates a head gasket leak. I would flush out the cooling system and be sure that there is good coolant flow through the rad ( you should be able to see the coolant moving in the rad with the rad cap off and engine running) as well as no air locks in the cooling system. Feel the heater hoses at the fire wall with the engine at opperating temp. The hoses should be hot and close to the same temp. If not then there is a flow problem or a plugged heater core. hope this helps..Good luck.
