I'd guess at an oxygen sensor, one or more. The motor won't flood unless it is getting the wrong mixture squirted in by the injectors, and that is sensed by the oxygen sensors.
First thing to do is to get a readout of the trouble codes stored by the ECU, which will point you in the right direction.
In the US Autozone will do this for you.
