a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of.(from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones)
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Goodluck!

SOURCE: wont start

Bryan, 1st check that the battery connections are clean and tight, and also the same for starter connections (starter is positioned between the engine and transmission, probably has 2-3 bolts and wiring connections. Have you had the battery tested? Don't buy a starter until you do. The lights and radio can work, but the battery could be undercharged enough to not be able to crank the engine over (you are correct that the 'clicking' sound is classic bad or low charge battery, but check the above 1st). A parts store can do a free check if you pull it out and bring it down. After checking the connections, try to jump start the car. Good luck. Hope this helps.

SOURCE: STARTER DOESNT START ENGINE EVERY TIME IT CLICKS

This is a starter solenoid issue. The best way to fix it is to change the entire starter, but there are solenoid repair kits available to fix just the solenoid. The rest of the starter is old, so it won't belong before it will have to be replaced anyway. I just do it all at once and be done with it.

SOURCE: My Toyota Fortuner 3l Diesel 4x4's central locking

Under the stearing wheel there is a fuse box on the left hand side, remove the pannel. Above the fuse box you will see a wiring harness with a box taped to it. Push all the cables in and test it while your doing it.

Fortuner- engine cuts out whilst driving , switch ignition off and resart this has started after a fuel filter change. this normally happens when overtaking another vehicle

make sure the filter is installed in right direction and that you used high pressure rubber hose if you replaced any...or that the seals are in place if you had to use fuel line disconnector tool...

Toyota fortuner wont start

I picked up the same problem now..
I changed the starter since the starter was dragging.
The vehicle starts much quicker.
However. That elimanted the drag starting.
It hasnot eliminated the main problem, turning the key full to start and only sometimes it takes to start.
Checked the fuses and all relays. All earths.
All 100%.
Cud be the ignition? .
Cud be bad battery terminals?
Any other suggestions....

Hard time getting car started..

The starter test at auto shops arnt always correct. In your car you have a load on the motor the auto shop doesnt. You could have barrings seizing up or a bad solinoid. Check the wires then get a starter ive seen the auto shops take people for rides. Ask people up there that have been doing the test for awhile they can hear it and tell you it will be bad before the out come and it will show good. But it is bad.

1995 nissan maxima doesnt start when cold, just clicks, and after trying for 5 to 10 minutes it finally starts... Please help me out...

it is one of two things.
  • the starter is either worn and brushes not making contact or an engine oil leak onto the starter. thus keeping the brushes from making contact you can check this by banging on the starter while someone trys turning the ignition back and forth to start.(making the click click click)

  • ignition switch is weak, not providing enough voltage from the to kick the soliniod all the way to start the starter

The way to check that is to hot wire the starter soliniod little wire, to battery voltage. (the big cable on the solinoid)
If it turns over good, then you can either replace the ignition switch or install a relay someware near the starter to supply it with propper current to kick the solinoid all the way to engage the motor.
The relay acts as a remote starter switch that feeds more direct power to the starter solinoid. Now the only thing the ignition switch is responsible for, is trigger the relay.
