How do i change a brake light switch on a 2005 nissan maxima

where your brake pedal mounts to the pedal assembly there is an electric switch on the brake pedal arm that has a tang that is pushed in when you apply the brake. Replace said switch. If this is confusing watch this video;

My 2001 ford windstars brake lights won't work. I

There is a brake light switch operated via the brake pedal. Once the switch wears out there is nothing to activate the brake lights. You will have to have the brake light switch replaced if a check of the vehicles wiring for the lighting is shown to be all in order.

My 2005 Colorado brake lights will not turn off. I have replaced the switch and nothing changes...what could be wrong?

Is it possible the switch is not adjusted correctly ?
Are you getting power in and out of the switch without pressing on the pedal ?

The brake lights do not want to work. i have changed the brake switch under the dash and the bulbs on the tail lights.still nothing. i also, changed fuses.

does the high mounted brake light work? the brake switch has 2 contacts one for the high mount (LT BLUE/BLACK) and one for the tail brake lights. The tail/brake light wire is LIGHT BLUE. the main connector between the brake light switch and the tail lights is C208 which is located behind the rear seat, left side. So if there is power coming out of the brake switch OK and no power at the tail lights, check that connector. Hope this helps.

Brake lights aren't working changed fuses and bulbs could it be the turn signal light switch?

the turn signal light switch has nothing to do with the brake lights,the problem is most likely the brake light switch which you should find around the area of the brake pedal it may be faulty or has come loose & needs to be adjusted & tightened back up........hope this helps......cheers.

Changing the brake pad has nothing to do with the brake light unless you touched the switch thats under your brake pedal. Or you might have a burnt light bulbs. Good luck

My brake lights are not working, My light turn on, my blinkers work, emergency lights flash, but nothing happens when I press on my brakes?

Sounds like a brake pedal switch fault take the switch of the brake pedal and remove connection , bridge the two wires and check if the b lights are working if so change the switch. If not check the bulbs
