SOURCE: hilux leaking gear oil

There is a plug on the side of the gear box. Pull plug out. You should be able to stick your finger into the hole and touch the gear oil. If not, check on your owner manual and see what type of oil goes back into the gear box. Fill it up until it start coming out of the plug hole.put plug back in, & back to riding.

Are when you go to the oil change shop???? Get them to show you where it is at, and get them to top it off for you.???

SOURCE: ford truck f250 v8 motor idles high

the vacuum leak that causes this high idle is the gasket at the bottom of the upper intake manifold runners, they **** in, done 100's. to confirm this just spray carb cleaner at inside and outside base, when u hit the leak you will hear it. see photo.

SOURCE: volvo v40 2000nx reg 1.8 NON gdi engine constant high rpm can having no thermostat cause constant high rpm or can a briken lambda sensor cause high rpm cleaned all throttle body cleaned idle valve che

Yes, having no thermostat can cause the car to run fast as it will still be set in it's "warm up" mode and will be injecting a richer mixture of fuel/air into the cylinders. There may be an additional cold start injector that just works while the engine is cold. You will probably use more fuel like this. It's not a great idea to run with no thermostat anyway because you get uneven hot and cold spots around the engine which is bad for it. Cheers

Engine revs is too high when in neutral gear

First thing check for engine control module fault codes, if you have a lean running code then you have a vacuum leak on the engine, this allows air to bypass the idle speed control system and raises the idle up. Another issue is a sticking Idle speed control air bypass valve, but that is not common and vacuum leaks are.

When starting, clutch down 1st gear turning key truck jumps forward, will start but need to be ready to take off in gear that started in. starts fine in neutral.but won't go into gear without grinding

1st check your clutch system, that is most probably where the issue is as the gearbox rarely ever gives issues

2nd check the oil for your gear box. the oil should help the gears as they move into action or move out.

Runs fine in nuteral at about 1500rpm but as soon as you put it in gear it acts like you are fluttering the acc. pedal

Scan it for codes. Check for vavuum leaks. Make sure all the ducting from the air filter to the throttle body is tight and not leaking air in.

with your loss of power do you also have a hissing noise from the engine? this may be due to a leak of high pres air from the air pipes or intercooler

Mercedes c class with tiptonic gearbox. It seems to have got stuck in a low gear when I slowed down for a roundabout. When I accelerated to 50/60 mph, the rev counter was way too high and no auto gear...

It seems oil level is low in your gearbox, and it most likely leaking from adapter bushing ( where cable is connected to gearbox).
You need to replace seals or complete bushing and correct oil level.
Better if you visit your mechanic.

Hi i have a problem with my selespeed gearbox. The light on dashboard flashing and it not going into the gear, when it parked or stoped on uphill! I has changed the oil in the gearbox, the problem persist!...

i had the same problem with mine and noticed that its not the oil,its actually the automatic gearbox fluid(red), its more than likely leaking as the injector(small metal fitting at end of tube) below the filter(big black long tube like thing that clicks over air filter) has a crack in and causes small leaks, the fluids not totally getting into the engine so it misses a gear or goes to neutral at the oddest of times(especially when you stop) new tube doesnt cost too much labour on the other hand does....

havent had a problem since
