Check for burnt contacts at the fuel pump cut off switch, if te connector is discolored replace both the switch and the connector, both parts are avil from the Ford dealer, another problem area is the ignition starter switch, this is not the key but the electric switch that that the key actuates, it is located near the bottom of the steering column, it is operated by a rod from the key cylinder, these are made in two pieces and come apart, the contacts will loose connection and you get a no start, another issue is the fuel pump relay sticking, just replace the relay, they are cheap, it is located in the under hood fuse box..
The fuel pump shut-off switch is located behind the service panel on the right side of the cargo area.
Fuel pump relay is a mini relay and it is # 207 in under-hood power distribution-box.
Are you saying the transmisson slips and does not move the vehicle at all or are you saying the cars engine dies and does not restart untill the next day?
That squeaking noise is not you belt as sure as i am sitting here. What is going on is bearing in the cam sensor shaft is starting to lock up and this is causing a drag on the shaft and setting your cam sensor out of time. The this shaft took the place of the old distributor and holds the cam sensor it is located on the passenger side on the top of the engine this will have to be replaced along with the cam sensor :0
YOUR CAM SENSOR NEEDS TO READ IN TIME WITH YOUR CRANK SENSOR.TO TELL THE COMPUTER WHEN #1 CYLINDER IS READY TO BE FIRED.It is like when your old cars would jump time on the timing chain when the shaft drags because it is locking up the cam sensor will also drag and put your cam timing off in the computer mind .Let me ask you do this happen more when it has been a little wet out?

last failure on highway vehicle restarted and idled very rough and died, towed to shop, next day they went out and started, no problems, no codes, this has been a constant issue, last time told battery, have replaced fuel pump and filter, belt sometimes squeaks and don't know spark plug conditions etc, was hoping mechanics would do their job
engine mostly restarts after dying, idles rough and shuts off, next day repair shop started just fine no codes but this is ongoing issue with no fix
I don't know...would that affect a running vehicle or the starting of it, seems to die when coming to a stop or around corners but last was on highway while giving gas so go figure, do you think I have a short somewhere or a fuse problem????
no, it had been dry here all week and I have not washed it either this past week, what about the idle air control valve as mentioned by another???/
the cars engine dies while driving (has died while on highway, while coming to stops and cornering) was not running rough, recently died on highway and would not stay started, it would start and idle rough and die, towed to shop, two days later mechanic walked out and started with no codes, told them to troubleshoot b/c it is a recurring problem with no solutions, always no codes
