96 grand prix serious knocking vibration from rear of engine when ecelerating

This is most likely going to be a bad lifer that you are hearing. It may be a rod or even a crank bearing. Could also be a broken or cracked flex plate.

I hear a knocking in the motor

not very specific, however, if it really loud, that may suggest internal engine damage...not good. also, if it sounds more like clicking which gets faster/slower depending on the speed of the engine, that would be you lifters = check oil = ensure correct level. or, switch to proper grade of oil if you have deviated from what the manufacturer recommends. it would help if you could tell me exactly where the "knocking" sound is coming from and what the vehicle is doing when you here the noise. oh, if it makes a knocking/pinging sound when you are under heavy acceleration or going up a steep hill (high load) check your spark plugs and try using a little bit better gas....

96' Grand Am Se. Loud Engine Noise

Spark plug housing? Did you remove the wires? You may have crossed them to the wrong plugs. This noise is not something to guess at and you should not continue driving it, you could damage it beyond repair. Get it to a tech asap.

It could be you are low on oil;using the wrong oil;a possible loose connecting rod,or,maybe a bad or stuck lifter.
