First adjust carbureted to the sweat spot, turn mixture screw in till it sounds like funny, turn it out till it stumble, set it half way between. Grease auger shaft if applicable, check oil in auger gear case. Then try again. If this does not work do a compression test

Temp gauge doesnt work, starts weird, and rattles when excelerating

Replace the temp sensor. When the ECM reads -40 degrees, yes it ups the RPM's and hard starting is because the ECM throws a lot of fuel to the engine. You may need to replace the spark plugs also, after the temp sensor.

Symptoms of camshaft sensor going bad

Do you have problems starting the car?If no I have to ask. When was the last time you replaced the fuel filter on this car because this is what typically occurs with a dirty one . Camshaft sensor/crank angle sensors start showing problems starting up the car.It takes forever for the engine to catch They will also throw a code that a mechanic can read with a scan. These codes may not throw a check engine light so a scan is a must. good luck

Starting problems

Press the gas pedal 2 or 3 times the moment when panel lights are open and you hear a small noise [that noise is that fuel is going to the motor] before turning the key to turn on the machine.
I think this will solve your problems!

In a 2004 dodge intrepid my speed ometer stop working my check engine light went on and is reading transmission solenoid problems and now won't start?

I'd try changing the speed sensor most likely mounted on the outside of the transaxle which is wired to your motor as a fail safe causing it not to start so replace the speed sensor which also could throw a transaxle code then disconnect your battery for 30 min to reset your engine light then reconnect battery and try starting

98 gmc safari. Starts sometimes and doesn't other times. Fuel pump tests fine, new fuel filter and crankshaft sensor. Can't afford to keep doing process of elimination.

Check battery cables at battery may be loose or corroded don't disconnect unless memory is maintained always remove neg first and don't reconnect until pos is connected and tight

Diesel fuel problems

sounds like you need to change your fuel filter. after you may want to add some howes fuel treatment it will disperse the water. if the outside temp is below 0. you could also be jelled up. i think the cloud point on desiel these days is about 20 deg. thanks to the new ultra low sulpher.

either the crank position sensor or something else but you will need to do some tests and post the results so myself or another mechanic can give you the diagnosis ,like when it stops is it still sparking?? are the plugs wet when it stops ?? is their fuel pressure when it stops ,is it throwing out black smoke ??

Problem started last week. sometimes engine cranks slow then fires up, other times fine. Also airbag, engine and abs lights come on sometimes when car is started. If i stop the car and then start it again...

This one I would need to have in my shop. I need to know which codes your car is throwing. If you take it to your local dealership, I will be happy to consult about the codes and the technician's recommendations.
