Question about 1992 Ford Econoline
I have a 92' Club Wagon with the 5.8 liter motor.
For a year I had trouble with it cutting out on me after the engine warmed up. Now it will only run for a few minutes before it dies completely.
I have also noticed using a spark light, that while it is running, if I mash the throttle, the spark quits completely for a second, then comes back...until the engine warms up of course, at which point the engine dies.
I replaced the Plugs, Cap and Rotor, and the Fuel Filter with new parts ( the wires are recent).
I also have a donor van that ran well except for the loud knock in the motor. I have swapped out the following without success, not necessarily in this order. PCM, ICM, distributor, Fuel pump, MAP sensor, oxygen sensor, throttle position sensor, some EGR parts and even the transmission range selector.
Any ideas would be more than welcome.
