Question about 2005 Volvo S40

1 Answer

Check engine, whistling moise

The check engine light came on. The engine has been whistling for about 30 miles. Whistling seems to go away when the car maintains constant speed. There was also a second ticking noise from the passenger side. Can I continue to drive until the dealership can schedule a service in two days?

Volvo s60 2004 makes a whistling noise and engine light says P0300 random/ multiple misfire

You have to diagnose an ignition problem,
since you have the PO300 & misfires shown,
at least for many cylinders

Could end up just being one cylinder or several
that need whatever ignition parts control them

Individual Coils for each cylinder or a module that
applies to all of them

Wouldn't use the car until resolved
As it gets worse, you will ruin the exhaust converter

No idea on the whistle

Has a whistling noise coming from fuel tank. check engine light on. the code is p1443. why is it whistling?

It is whistling because there is pressure buildup in the gastank. The pressure relief valve is probably plugged up and malfunctioning. With incorrect pressure in the fuel system, the check engine light is being triggered. The code p1443 is reguarding the Evaporative Emmissions Control System. Hope this helps good luck.

Whistling from engine

This is a symptom of the inlet manifold gasket having a leak. The whistling is air going in through the small leak/hole in the gasket. With the throttle butterfly shut, air is getting sucked in the only way it can.Try tightening the inlet manifold bolts 1st.But more than likely the gasket needs replacing.Hope this helps
