Yes you do. The dealership will tell you the code if you take your registration document.

There are also websites that will sell you the code if you give them the make and serial number of the unit.

I'm try to install a radio that i bought from another chevy owner with the same make and model. But he informed me that i would have to get my radio reactived in order for it to work. Is this...

If both radios are anti theft type radios then you have to know the entry security code of the radio just purchased to reactivate. Other possibility is to get take the radio to the dealership and if the radio has the barcode they can scan for the security code. Then you can reactivate the radio.

How can I get my radio code? I am about to replace the battery and was told that I need code to reactivate radio. Please help wild6425@yahoo.com I need a radio code to reactivate the radio.

Call the dealer and give them your VIN number. They should have it on file. If not, then you can also buy keep alive memory gadgets that plug into your cigarette lighter and are powered by a battery. This will save all of your car's memory from being erased

Try 0000 and if that's not it, log on to http://www.radio-code.com/ There is a fee, but it's much less then the dealer and you get to keep the code not like the dealer that will just reactivate your radio.

Radio display reads loc and does not work any ideas keyless entry would not stop horn so i pulled fuse put fuse back in and radio reads loc and will not play

You need to enter a radio code to reactivate your radio. When the fuse was pulled, it cut the 12 volt to the radio and the radio anti-theft came on. Try entering 0000 to unlock you radio, if your radio does not take any more entries. Disconnect the battery again for 1 min and reconnect and then you can reenter codes again, if the code is not 0000. You can go the dealer and they can reactivate your radio, but if they want a crazy amount. Log on to radio-code.com, there is a fee but it's like $24.00. good luck and keep use posted.

Replaced battery in 1996 Honda Accord which deactivated radio.

You need to code ..punch in code then power radio up and it will work. For a fee if its the original radio for this car the code can be retrieved by the dealer. If you entered to code incorrectly more than 4 times you will need to disconnect battery for 30 second and re-enter code. good luck and thanks for using FIX YA
