Question about Cars & Trucks
There is a code on it that needs putting in. It is to stop theft of radios. When you removed the power to the battery, the radio thinks it has been stolen.
Take it your registration document to a dealership of your make and they will tell you the code FOC. There are also websites that sell codes, but you have to remove the unit and tell them the serial number in most cases.
